Good question. I've asked others who think man progressed from a monkey this same question before. I believe man was made in the image of God. I believe God is not a monkey spirit. Jesus Christ was the express image of God in the flesh. Jesus did not look like a monkey.

One, if you believe in God then you should know already that everything in God's word goes against evolution. Two, it says God created MAN in his image, not monkey. Last time I checked I didn't look like a monkey.

Monkeys are not humans! God created us in His image. That means God looks like us.

With in the genus, anthropoid. Which includes the great apes, and lemurs Man is listed as the top anthropoid. Yet ever time the perform a DNA analyst of the other members of the genus. They come back and say not human. In fact science now has shown that there has been very minor changes in over fifty million years. With in this genus, and still have not shown the existence of man beyond two hundred and fifty thousand years. The Laws of Science, are a finite group of rules. That can not be changed with in our environment. And yet they would have us believe. That they are the result of pure chance. A random event without an established planning. No God is not a monkey. In Genesis Four we are introduced to Cain. And are told that God made a mark on his brow. And that the entire line ides in the flood. What if the mark was a deformed brow, similar to either subspecies of man.

Maybe he looks like the common ancestor that is linked between humans and monkeys lol. My Mum was telling me that we were made in Gods spiritual image not the human body image.

Are you a monkey? I'm not and I didn't start as a monkey. Anyway though I beleve if you took the phrase correctly it is the SOUL that is in God's image.

Yes, I think god created monkeys in her own image. We are distant relations but God is basically pissed off because of all the monkey habitat destruction. Good question!

OH MY GOD.... you need to read the bible, man. People don't come from monkeys, he created our spirits in his image, so that we can be like him but not to his full power. He said he created us from the dust into a man, but as far as your question, he was talking about our spirits.

Who said the by creating us 'in his image' that means he created us to look like Him anyway? If Man is supposed to look like him, who are women supposed to look like (with the extra bits added and other bits gone)?
I think that creating us in his image means that he created us with a deep and thorough understanding of what we are to be, that he had a clear vision for our purpose. And that underlines everything we seek from religion, the faith that we have purpose and promise and hope in a benevolent creator's grand design (or, as I define it here, his image)
