Why is it that some guys don't want to date women who are " fat" .? I've also noticed that they don't want to admit they are friends with girls who they consider "fat". Please help me understand why guys think that.

The modern male has been sold what the ideal woman looks like from infancy. From TV, magazines, movies … even Barbie Dolls ... we soon learn that 36-24-36 is what makes the world go round. We have been sold. The ideal women has been established and it’s our job to go out and find her.
Many guys worry about what other guys think. We want other guys to like how we play sports, like our cars and …yes like our girl friends. It’s shallow but many people … both men and women are like that. We care what other people think.
But it’s not just that … we have already been sold.

It isn`t all that bad if you think about it though. Because if it is seen as cool and good to be "not fat" this would encourage people who are over weight to lose some of it, and of course it is healthier to not be fat and normal weight people live longer too.
By the way I am a bloke and have seen good looking women that are large and good looking women who are slimmer. So it isn`t always the case of fat = ugly. And I`m not the only one who thinks this just listen to the Queen song "fat bottomed girls make the rocking world go round", so it is quite normal for weight to be considered low down on the list of important things.

Most people throw walls up and call them standards. weight is one of those walls. Just one of many and they wonder why they can't be happy. restrictions have always been there. Some it may be weight some age some will even use the length of someones hair. Looking for love can only be done by looking with the heart. The sad part is many do not know how. There is no such a thing as the perfect person but many get blinded by their idea of what perfect is. I guess the question can be asked. would you rather be in love with what you think is a perfect mate, or feel and know that your loved from someone you find fault in?

It's not like girls go crazy and dream of dating a fat guy.
Tell me this. Are Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, etc etc. fat? There's your answer.
Let me know when women like fat guys. I'll eat until I gain a 100 pounds.

some guys do like the chubby ones. but i dont know any guys that wont be FRIENDS with fat girls. but dating is a different story. i mean whats the point of going out with somebody you're not interested or attracted to

open any women's magazine, look at any program on TV, how many fat women do you see? None. We are addicted to waifs that look like they would blow away with a stiff breeze. Hollywood and the ad agencies have successfully brainwashed an entire nation into believing that anorexic twigs are attractive.

Okay I'm obviously not a guy. But I think one reason is because they have to look cool in front of their friends. I've known guys who will dump their girlfriends if their friends think she is ugly. Or they will keep her on the side as a F buddy.

it has to do with respecting ones self and being or having a healthy life stile , granted I'm not in the best shape of my life but I refuse to let myself get over Waite or worse lazy. I respect my body and Id like to be with a lady that wants to look good for me as well as for herself. On the other hand if we were together for a long time and something happened where she couldn't stay in shape we'd look into other ways to stay fit .

because most guys are judgemental and care alot about looks.. guys are stimulted visually and want to be around "beautiful" women whenever possible.. but not all men are liek that.. personally i like women with a little extra meat on them. Im sick of society and really skinny @ss women. As long as they are confident and aren't afraid to be themselves
