I was a PT stud for 3 years in the army with 325 pts.
90 pushups, 88 situps and 12:20.
Dont worry about the APT, do your best, but dont kill yourself. This is just an assesment to see where you can improve afterwards.
Once youre in, you can use these tips for future PT tests.
The day before the PT you should do nothing more than strecthing and relaxing.
Before then, the best way i found to Ace the PFT was to do very slow push ups for as long as you can. This technique really helps since the PT test is more of how much you can do in 2 minutes, your body will react great to doing it fast on the PT test.
(Also do close hands pushups for training, then for the test, as wide as you can go!)
When it comes to the situps, doing them very slow with a 10 or 20 pound plate will do nicely. When you take the test your abs will feel weightless and you'll be able to them faster.
Always train harder and then whats expected of you in the PT test and you'll surprise yourself.
Same goes for running. If you can use ankle weights, and run 3miles. When you do the actual PT you'll smoke the time.

What is your mile run time? I am not a soldier, but I have quite a few friends in law enforcement, and I somewhat excel in physical activities. As for the pushups, keep doing pushups, and try to add one more and more to what you already do, was well as maybe some pull ups, the benchpress, and the machine that you move your arms like a butterfly (the name of it is slipping my mind at the moment). But yeah, as for the 1.5 mile run time, I can't offer super-specific help unless you say the time you have already, but as a general tip, remember to pace yourself so you don't get exhausted early on, and for the last part of it I always like to expel all energy I have left into a sprint. Again, I'm unsure of your pace and time, but a steady, somewhat light jog may help.

Put on a 60 pound backpack and start running up hills. This worked for me.

lol...take this one for the team....this test iza lost cause, set your sights on the next one...you shouldn't have to get ready for you PFT....you should maintain your readiness.....
