Perhaps because there is a song called 'God Bless America,' in which the lyrics predominantly say 'God Bless America.'

While the founding fathers...some, not all....were deists, there is a lot of religious language in documents of the time...such as the Declaration of Independence.

Also, the United States has only been around for 230 years. There is a lot more history in the world than just 230 years. I can name at least 10 wars that the US was not involved in....even some that occurred while the US existed. So the blanket statement is terribly inaccurate.

We are ASKING for God's blessing, not demanding it as you believe. Oh and last I checked this country didn't start until after 1788 or so. There were ALOT of wars prior to that. I think someone needs to teach you history more accuratly. If no other country wants to ask for God's blessing that is their choice. Most aren't very believing in God though or they may ask. Actually this mostly started from the thing where America and the Soviet Union were the two superpowers. The Soviet Union was Communist. One of the central beliefs of Communism is denying a God. So America became really big on saying there was one.

What makes you think that no other country besides America says "God bless our country"?

People in LOTS of countries say that.

And what makes you think that America "has been involved in nearly every war to date"?

You need to watch the news more. Most of the wars that have gone on, in past times as well as nowadays, don't involve America at all.

I know you're not trying to "insult" Americans, but (no offense) you really need to get some facts straight first before pushing such ideas about America.

Because if you knew our heritage you would understand that at one time we closed everything down on Sundays to pay respect to God. That our money actually meant it in gratitude and faith when it said In God We Trust, for it was to build up our country. That we truly believed we had been given, all as immigrants, an opportunity to live in a country that would not repress our Christ-believing because Europe's Catholic Christianity was burning us at the stakes. God sent Israel in to many wars as well, so I don't see the point of that statement included in your question. Why do we still do it? That is an even better question, because America has long given up its claim to be a God-fearing country worthy of God's blessing. True Christians are few and far between and religion has taken over to the point that confusion and chaos has become the only god that blesses us anymore. I'm not the least bit insulted. You've asked a most important question that I hope I've answered worthily of my God and Savior and to your satisfaction.

America was founded because people in England and other counties wanted freedom to worship God. So why shouldnt God bless America.. it not wrong to pray and ask God to bless us here. If other countries in this world would pray the same for there countries then this world would be in better shape.

I'm glad you asked. Americans love America, well most of us do. God is very important to us. A majority of Americans believe in god. We are happy that this is a free country, a superpower and the nation of wealth. When something good happens to Americans from the Govt. or our constitution or when we see other countries that are less fortunate we say god bless America.

wow...it's just a saying.

God Bless America, is said because the nations people feel that God preserved this chunck of land for them, it's a fundamentalist concept. Go to Arkansas, they say Arkansas is God's land, sure sure it's beautiful there, but the people? whew the people.

I can well imagine it is the same as God Save the Queen, or Erin Go Bragh, or even dare I say it, Gad Bless the Saints....if you're a football fan.

Ever heard the song God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood? it's a bit simular

First of all, it's the title to a song. Second, many countries used to feel the King was ordained by God; just because they don't feel that way now doesn't mean they didn't. Everybody wants to believe a higher power is on their side. Muslims have Allah, Christians have God. We would like God to make us a prosperous nation, although removing his name from everything in sight will not help. Our country was founded on Christian morals, by Christian men. Not establishing a National church does not mean we should not support anything. The men just didn't want a repeat of the Spanish Inquisition or the slaughter on other religions by the British.

Well, the Pledge of Allegiance did not have the phrase "one nation under God" until the 1950s. Congress and the US government decided to add this phrase to distinguish themselves from the Russians. At the time, the US and Russia was involved in the Cold War. So, the US wanted to show that they were not communists like the Russians but a morally religious nation. Therefore, today we have that phrase and a strong emphasis on God in our culture.

Because the country was founded by Christians and the Christians of this country want America to be blessed. Contrary to what you might believe America is not the vile country people make it out to be. Take a look at the histories of some of America's detractors.......Iran for instance.......people who live in glass houses cannot throw stones!
