WE can not make anyone a 'believer'...The LORD puts it in thier hearts as to whether they will believe or not. All we can do, is plant the seed and the LORD will water it and nurture it...
You will find that you cant reach non believers, no matter what, but by the same token, you can reach those who take a long time to come around and its worth it then... Its all in the LORD'S HANDS.. and we are only the instruments in which HE uses...
I wish you well...
Jesse

Need some factual info, not just words from a book that's been rewritten 1000's of times by 1000's of people over 1000's of years.
If there is only one true god.....one true 'christ' then why all of the different religions? Why all the different gods? Why all the different sons of gods and prophets?
I used to be religious, it was some kind of muslim religion (I'm not muslim and it wasn't Islam). Then I realized there were 100s of other major religions out there and that they all had their own prophets and histories. I realized that it is human nature and the human mind to need to believe in a god. To believe in a higher power. Something to wish to/for, something thank, something to blame. An answer for any question we don't know the anwer to.
Just in regards to the bible, take the story of Noah's Ark. Think about this. First of all, there is no scientific evidence of a global flood. A guy build a boat big enough to hold two of every single animal in the world.....right.
Two giraffes from Africa, two polar bears from antartica, two rattle snakes from America, two sloths from japan, two kowola bears from australia.......impossible, impractical, unrealistic. But I know....because it was god's doing, anything is possible. Garbage.
In fact, Noah's Ark is not the first time this story was told. There are at least 4 stories very similar to this, predating Noah's Ark by 100's of years. One is the story of Gilgamesh which is an ancient Greek story (I think, might be another civilization, don't remember) but it's pretty much the exact same story. Even has the guy release a dove at the end to find land.
A story. Passed down through history. A story meant to teach a lesson, not a historical fact. But the church will tell you it happend for a fact. The mediterrian sea flooded, this would have been most of the known world at that time....but not the Earth. Just one example.

What evidence do believer propose besides the Bible. it could have been written by any body. There is no solid of scientific proof that it even contains actual history. My recommendation is Watch Showtimes "Penn & Tellers: Bullshit", they have an episode on this which has strong evidence against the bible, and other Religious scriptures. Not saying you people are wrong, but be more open to other suggestions and not be so judgemental of others. Doesnt your own bible say something like Dont judge others, for they shall be judge before him in at the Gates of Heaven. So you have no right to be judging us, your not god!
Edited: Just a question do you follow all the rules of the bible? Impossible, there are many things in the bible that are impossible to do. Even as times have changed over 2000 years, it should still apply to today, yet many dont follow all the rules of GOD. So we are all going to hell no matter what. But religious fanatics say that god forgives you no matter what. So if i believe or do not, it doesnt matter he forgives me even now. If you want to play by your rules.

You have faith in a religion. I have faith in science, which I can prove. I am the doubting Thomas, until I can put my fingers into the wounds of Jesus I will doubt Christianity. Give me proof, not bible verses, I was a member of the Catholic Church in good standing for 18 years. It just didn't do it for me.
And please remember the bible is just a book. Sure it was inspired by God, but it is still man's idea, and it is a historical document, not a living document (like the Constitution). If you believe in everything in the bible then do you believe that the Sun revolves around the Earth?
No offense meant. The bible is a good guide for a way of life, but it is not the only guide, and it is has lost some of its relevance over the centuries.

What makes you think you are right and I am wrong ... that is rather judgmental isn't it? Are "your eyes closed to the truth"?
Probably not the intent but the first quote comes off as name-calling. The second is theological extortion. The third seems to make the assumption that if I do not agree with you then I hate you (it actually doesn't make a lot of sense).
I am happy to respect the right for others to believe as they want to but I don't have to respect those beliefs ... I would hope the same courtesy is returned without the name calling.
Peace out

You know-- I'm a Christian but I find your comment ridiculous. You can't say-- "How can you miss the truth" then pull out words you think support the truth that only have merit to you if you believe in them. By this logic-- couldn't a scientist say to you "How can you be blind to the truth", them pull out a biology book explaining evolution? What's the difference? At least the scientist could logically trace back his comment with empirical evidence supporting his claim-- YOU cannot. You have only faith upon which to rest you hat
Knock it OFF! This is the kind of crap that gives us a bad name and makes us look like fools!

No, but your eyes seem to be pretty exclusively focused on a 2000 year old compilation of folktales and fables to be able to see whether it's the truth that you're looking at or not. Good luck with that.
Woodworkingmenace, why would any god make people not believe in him? That's kind of dumb. And isn't that arbitrarily sentencing people to eternal death according to your beliefs anyway? Not very just of him, is it?

La_Belle_LadyR99, I liked your post. The posters did seem pretty angry. Not very Christian of them is it? Anyway, I'm a believer, but I do not get angry when people say they don’t believe. However, I do not believe that the stories in the Bible literally happened the way they are told. I believe they are stories to live by.
Did you know that back when the Bible was written divorce was a despicable crime? Funny how they now preach that being gay is wrong, but we never hear about how evil divorce is. Pretty convenient, heh?

Not everyone believes in the christian heaven, hell or satan. I for one don't so verses that say I'm going to eternal fire have no hold over me. The christian bible is like any other holy book or religious writing - there are truths, fallacies and tall tales. It was written by human beings and anything written by a human is going to be biased to the writer. It was not meant to be taken to the literal extreme.

Truth? Give me evidence and then we can talk. Did you read the second part? It said that the blind are those who hate their brothers. A lot of Christians hate Atheists (not all, but a lot) so are they now blind too? What makes you think that you know all and see all? Doesn't that sound like you're trying to say you're God, or at least his equal? Now who is that like... hmm...
Oh yeah, now I remember.
He's not very well known, so you might not have heard of him...
Lucifer
What was his one sin? Pride. He thought himself God's equal/better, and look where he ended up.
What sin do you seem to be guilty of now? Could it be pride? Practice what you preach, that's the only thing I ask of you.

Stop believing what Mommy and Daddy taught you and start thinking with your own head. I did, and I feel more wonderful than I ever have. The Devil's doing? Perhaps.. but at least I'm going to enjoy my life, and that's all that matters to me.
