This may be your homework in which case you should do the research.
However it is an important question and so I researched for myself as well.
The debate is about free will or predestination.
Calvin : predestination
Wesley : free will
1.Calvin's doctrine is that Jesus died only for those God chose to be saved, and nobody else.
2. When God calls the sinner, they can't help themselves; they will be saved.
Wesley believes that we all have a chance at salvation. That we all make the choice.
But this is not about Wesley or Calvin. It is about the Bible. And what Calvin believed is not in the Bible.
If you can find predestination in the Bible, show me.
Prespeterians believe in predestination and Methodists believe in free will.
However if you are a follower of Christ you are neither one because these are divisions created by doctrines. A man must believe what he believes before God. The divisions in the Churches are because lots of people would rather prove that one is right and the other wrong or in other words to argue rather than love one another.

A good encyclopedia will give you a great contrast. Your homework is yours to do. And there is not a simplistic answer - They started together and divided over petty issues like so many religious divisions. An old history book might even be a greater source. Or a public library.

Well I definantly can't. Hold on, Calvinist were the people who said that people were destined to heaven or hell before birth. So all they could do was live a godly life and hope they were in the Heaven book. Isn't that why it faded cause no one wanted to be religious if they had no influence on thier destiny. I could be wrong but thats what comes to mind.

Would you be interested in the movements you mention vs the Bible's teachings? If so, you might want to ask a Jehovah's witness to show you what they have in their archives.

For those who need predestination shown to them:
PREDESTINATED OR PREDESTINATION
The decree of God by which He has, from eternity unchangeably, appointed or determined whatever comes to pass. It is used particularly to denote the preordination of men to everlasting happiness or misery and is a part of the unchangeable plan of the Divine government; in other words, the unchangeable purpose of an unchangeable God (Webster).
Rom. 8:29, 30. "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called:
Eph. 1:5. "Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will."
Eph. 1:11. "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will" (Isaiah 46:9, 10).
There is plenty more

TWO GUYS THAT CHANGED PROTESTANT RELIGION TO FIT THEIR DOCTRINE INSTEAD OF THE BIBLE'S TRUTH.
TRUTH ON CHRISTIANITY AND THE AUTHORITY OF THE CHURCH IS ALL IN THE BIBLE.
THE CHURCH OF CHRIST HAS EXCELLENT MATERIALS ON THE SUBJECT AND WILL SHARE WITH ALL WHO ASK.
and by the way it's John Calvin GOD BLESS YOU
