What is your favorite scripture story and why?

Please be spicific and sight references. Tell me as much about the stroy as you want and why it is your favorite. I don't care what religion you are, and it doesn't matter in what set of scriptures your story is in. I'm open to them all! Only serious answers please.

Well, Elijah defeating the priests of Baal was a pretty cool story- After building an alter and putting the meat on it, the priests danced and chanted and sang- even cut themselves to try to get Baal to send fire down to burn the offering.... Then Elijah built his alter, put the meat on it, dug a trench around the alter. He dumped water all over the whole thing, filling the trench with water too. He prayed, and Jehovah sent fire down. His fire consumed the meat, the wood, the rocks, the dust, and the water in the trench. Sucks for the priests of Baal, and one point for Jehovah!

I also like Noah's story, too.

My favorite story... but there's so many good ones to choose from!

I think my favorite is Ammon and King Lamoni... First thing, Ammon asks to be a servant. Then he goes way above and beyond the call of duty- with the sword, and the arms- wow! Then Lamoni calls him in, asks him where he got such power... Then, after he has Lamoni's trust, Ammon starts teaching- "Do you believe in God?"
"What is God?"
"Do you believe in a Great Spirit?"
"Sure"
"This Great Spirit is God....." Great stuff!!!!

Noah's ark is one of my favorites. It is in Genesis. I like to tell the story to children and I like to give them little animals to play with - zoo animals and farm animals. It is a family story, a rescue story. It shows God's love for all His creation and what a great gift all the animals are. There are nice songs to sing with the story and I especially like The old funny rendition done by Bill Cosby.

I like the story in First Kings 18 where God with Elijah's help defeats many prophets of Baal and other false gods.
