Well? I feel for you and your pet but what are you asking? Your getting advise from a professional and if you listen to that "pro" you will more than likely get results. I understand your concern but your vet does have your pets best interest at heart. Relax and give it time. Don't panic just yet. (smile)

Well. I must say, that keeping a dog away from water for a whole day sounds very strange. It doesn't sound right and I would try to get more information from your vet as soon as possible. If she is not moving around, something could be seriously wrong. Although some dogs vomit grass often, vomiting liquid is NOT normal. There are a number of things that could be wrong.

Dog vomiting is usually just a passing inconvenience which disappears after a short period of time - between 12 and 24 hours. During this period ensure that the dog is rested from any food or large amounts of water so that the intestinal tract can ease and settle down. Your dog is probably staying away from food instinctively for this purpose.

Sounds like she ate something that is not passing. I have seen fotos of panyhose, underwear, a size D bra, golf balls, etc. all that had been removed from dogs' stomachs. I would really watch her and make sure she gets clear liquide (ice cube) to try to keep dehydration at bay.

Take an inventory of your things and make sure it's all there.

If you can afford it, seek another opinion.
I would never go against a vet's recommendation, but leaving the dog without water sounds dangerous.

Maybe it's due to a poisonous plant he could have injested.....click the link below, there's a list of poisonous plant to dogs. There is also a poison hotline number at that site that could help. Good luck.

Call your vet back. try giving her some Pepto-Bismal. Also try giving her browned hamburger(grease drained off) mixed with cooked white rice. Add no salt.

they certainly didn't mean to keep her away from water, or nutrients. They must have meant keep her away from the woods. SHE MUST HAVE WATER, OR SHE WILL BE DEHYDRATED
