I mean a lightsaber would be awesome to have, but I could accidently chop off one of my arms. If I could have Doctor Emmet Brown's core component to his time traveling Delorean (the flux-capacitor) I could go back in time to any era. I could aslo inadvertantly change history for the worse.

I'd rather have a light saber. It has many applications in the cutting and hole punching depts. It's a gift and a job.

Flux capacitors are hard to power, need to be going 88 mph and put you in situations where you can alter human history. Too much responsibility...

It would be a lot worse to change history than just cut off someones arm. Just imagine what would happen if you went back in time to the Japanese WWII carriers just before the Pearl Harbor attack with a copy of the movie "Tora, Tora, Tora". They would realize that they could catch the US aircraft carriers with a third wave of attacks (the were ready to make a 3rd attack). Just think how many more people would die if Japan won WWII, or if the Axis Alliance won the war. Time travel is just too dangerous.
