Carver pitbulls are pitbulls that were bred by the Silver Fox Maurice Carver from San Antonio, TX. As far as I know they are not lost or killed off, as many pitbull pedigrees contain his bloodlines. They were not a separate breed, although they had distinctive type and were well known for their gameness in the dog fight ring.

Hope this answers your question.

Many breeds and mixes involving pitbulls are usually "killed off" because theyre hard to place in homes -- Many states require you to buy insurence for certain breeds of dogs, including pitbulls, which are expensive. Many people consider pitbulls to be mean, so theyre also hard to place. Also, many pitbulls are used for fighting so they die in battle, or eventually from untreated wounds, and they must usually be "put to sleep" because they cant be used for anything but the illegal fighting because thats all they know to do when in face with children, some adults, and other animals. Also, since theyre usually hard to place most pounds and humane societies euthanize them immediately, accept very few, or deny them all together.
