The problem I am having is that Muslims have told me they believe in the Old Testament and the New Testament and the Koran and that Jesus was a prophet but they don't believe what the New Testament says, as for instance 1 John chapter 2, the last chapter of Revelation, if anyone adds to the words of the prophesy of this book I will add to him the plagues written herein. And scripture says test the spirits, if any spirit does not confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, then that spirit is not of God. Scripture notes a man said praise God who has give such power to men. I read a Muslim believes Jesus when he says he is the way, but he also says he is the truth and the life. He is Truth. God is Truth. So some of you say you believe in the Bible but we are not to add to the words of the prophesy of the book and it says so many things which contradict what you say. I heard a Muslim say who says we believe in Jesus? So how do I really know what Muslims believe?

Muslims say that they believe the Bible, but they do not. In fact, they deny that Christ was actually crucified. They refer to him as a prophet because to recognize him as the Son of God would completely invalidate their religion, certainly the Quran.

I have friends who are Muslim and I can tell you they do not study the Bible. They only study the Quran, so they only know and believe its teachings.

Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet, just as Moses was. They believe there have been thousands of prophets throughout the history of mankind. The main thing they don't believe about Christianity is that Jesus was the son of God and that Mary was a virgin. Remember that every major religion steals from the ones before it. So Christianity stole from the Jews in the form of the Old Testament and added some more stuff, although some of it seems contradictory. Then you've got the Muslims which stole the new and the old testaments, then added some more stuff, which again was contradictory to some extent. I'm sure the Jews jacked some stuff too, but I don't know who from. So yeah. Don't take it too literally.

Jesus was a Prophet. Bible is the word of God. Muslims understand Jesus as explained in the ORIGINAL bible - the Hebrew/Aramaic version (the lang of Jesus). These days with numerous denominations, over 10 different bible versions (not to mention different translations), which Jesus and which bible are we talking about? Churches' favourites or the REAL original one which no one dares to even ask for...

Firstly, Thank you for allowing me to respond to this Question.

we accept the old testament, and the gospels, but we do not follow them because they have been altered and changed over time. so the Quran came and superceded the other books, and has never been changed since the time it was revealed.

if you go to anyone and ask them to explain to you the trinity, they will not be able to give you an adequete answer.

Never once did Jesus (peace be upon him) claim to be God. If you look into the bible, if you have a red lettered one that highlights supposedly what Jesus has said, than never once will you find that he told his people to worship him. On the contrary, he said "Worship Thy Father Alone" i.e. worship God Alone.

Third of All, In Islam we believe in Jesus as a highly respected Prophet of Allah (God). just like Moses, Adam, Abraham, Noah, etc.

They All came with the same message : To worship the creator Alone.

Indeed, it is very blasphemous to say that Jesus Is God.
#1. Jesus was A human, and everyone will agree upon that. meaning he ate, slept, used the bathroom, etc. Things that Muslims Believe are not attributes fit for the Lord of the Universe, because he is free of all needs.

#2. The Christians believed that Jesus died on the Cross. How can God Die? if that were the case, than how can it be that he would be on the cross saying "Why have you forsaken me" to the one who is in heaven, if they were one in the same. and how is it that He knew he would die, but didnt know at the same time?

and if he died for 3 days, who was God during those 3 days?

nothing makes sense.

but everything in Islam Makes sense. wouldnt it be more logical that he were a Righteous Prophet of God, rather than God himself?

If you believe
1. that there is no object worthy of worship but Allah (God)
2. you believe in the angles
3. Heaven and hell
4. The Books that came before (the Old testament, Gospels, Quran)
5. you believe in the all the Prophets of God starting from Adam, including Moses, Jesus, Abraham, Noah, and Muhammad peace be upon all of them)
and finally
6. Divine decree.

than welcome to Islam.

Finally, if you do not wish to listen to anything i've said, at least do one thing which you have nothing to lose.

Seek guidance from God himself to guide you on the strait path, and see where it leads you.

I Swear by Allah, that if you Sincerely and whole-heartedly ask Him for Guidance to the truth. He will lead you to it.

you have nothing you lose.

I ask God to guide you all to the truth. ameen.

Musilims believe Jesus was a prophet, an inspired, loving preacher. They do not believe he was the son of God, They believe in the virgin birth and Jesus' miracles but they don't believe he died for our sins or rose from the dead. They also believe that the New Testament is flawed and full of embellishments and that many things were left out. You can try going here.

Plain and simple: Muslims believe Jesus (peace upon him) was a Prophet. Just like the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the "Gospel" was revealed to Jesus (peace be upon him). The New Testament is not the Bible that was revealed to Jesus (peace be upon him), therefore, we do not believe in todays Christianity. The original Bible first revealed to Jesus (peace be upon him) is the one we believe in. However, as we know, the Bible has now been altered. As a Muslim, we must believe in Jesus (peace be upon him) as a Prophet and believe in his miracles, but we cannot love him more than Allah, the only diety worthy of worship.

How do you know what Muslims really believe? You do a bit of research on some reliable cites, that's how. Muslims have a great deal of respect for Jesus, and believe he is the second greatest prophet, but don't believe he is divine, neither him or anybody who ever lived, lives, or will live.

Read Don Richardson's book, Secrets of the Koran, or (and) read the Koran itself!! But it looks to me that you've already discovered some major problems with their claim of Jesus as a respected figure, when they reject His words as falsehood.
The Qu'ran does say to respect people of the book (Christians and Jews) but it also says (very emphatically) to kill all the infidels, i.e. anyone who is not a Muslim.

If you look closely, you'll see that Islam is a corrupted version of Judaism, which explains why they don't accept Jesus as Gods Son. A Christian without Christ would not be a Christian, nor would they be Muslim, they would follow Judaism.

This I believe; http://homelessheart.com/testimony.htm

We're not to add to the book of Revelation or to the Bible. What God tells us, we leave alone and accept. However, God didn't expire all of what He has to say. Can you possibly accept that ALLLL of what God has to say is encapsulated into the Bible? He is infinite, and so is His word.

God gives us His revelation in stages, not all at once. The Bible has proof of it because we didn't get it all bound up all at once, it came in stages. So, no one is to add to these...... EXCEPT FOR GOD.

God gave humanity the Holy Qur'an. His teachings to us keep a'comin' IN STAGES. We're not to add anything to it. Unfortunately, 1 John 5:7-8 is an addition, it's called the Comma Johanneum. IGNORE THIS VERSE, DO NOT ACCEPT IT AS WORD OF GOD. Whoever added this had to face HIM for their actions.

What God gives us (His word), accept. What man adds to it, don't accept. God has always given us His word and He will continue doing so. That has been His pattern all along, it won't change. God's word is INFINITE.

The Qur'an is Holy, it's from God.
