Okay I'm a dad and its fathers day. I am dating a very nice woman and I am in love with her. That last time I heard from her was last night when she left me this awesome message on my cell phone, it made my night. Then today I haven't heard a word. It's fathers day shouldn't she at least call me and wish me a happy fathers day? I know that her fahter left her when she was 5 years old. Maybe today is just to painful for her. I'm bothered by the fact she hasn't called me and hurt. However we have only been seeing each other for the past 6 months but we are both in love with each other. Do you think I'm over reacting to this? Thanx

She has like 7 more hours. And maybe she won't call...but it's just one day. I would say yeah, you are over-reacting a little. It's not like you are her dad. You could call her.

I would say that you are overreacting a little bit. She is not the mother of your children, therefore she really has no reason to tell you Happy Father's Day. And that thing about her dad leaving her when she was young makes perfect sense. My boyfriend hates Father's Day because his dad left him and his mom and his little brother. Please don't try to control the woman you love and don't be self-centered. Sounds like you're starting to be more sensitive; keep it up. But she doesn't need to call you every day; just because she missed a holiday doesn't mean she doesn't love you. (And hey, the day isn't over yet - she might still call you!) It might be different if she forgot your birthday, but try to be flexible here. :-)

Is it really about you?

Is it really up to her?

She may have some real issues about this day.

If it is important to hear her say "Happy Father's Day" to you, you could give her a call or ask her out today. She will likely say it while you are together.

You could do both of you a large favor by calling her and getting her to go out for a nice outing. It might help her think about something positive, and not sit home and think of her loss. It might give you the chance to hear the words that seem so important to you. You might make some real steps forward in developing compassion for each other.

Got off the computer, and go call her to go out.

I don't call every Dad I know to say Happy Fathers day. Just my 2 dads. Don't feel bad about it. Be happy that she spends the rest of the year with you not just one day!

You are over reacting. She called last night. She probably doesn't want to disturb you today because she figures you are spending time with your kids. Get over it.

I hope you're not one of those control freaks who has to know where a woman is all the time because you don't trust her.

She should call you cause like you said you both are in love. So if she really loves you she won't forget this day and will give you a call . But if she doesn't call you it wont mean anything cause you saw her last night and it is even not 24hr since then.

It probably is a hard day for her.If you call her she may surprise you and wish you a happy fathers day. After all she left you a nice message last night.

umm i would go to far as to say over reacting, but maybe shes thinkning its still a farley new relation ship and dosnt want to be to forcefull. Or it maybe that she thought you were going to want to spend fathers day with your kids, so she just left you a message last night cause she though you would be busy today and hasnt called yet cause she simply dosnt want to disturb you. i wouldnt stress of it. or just ask her but ask jokingly so she dosnt think it bothered you.

Well due to the fact that your not her father, it shouldnt be that big of a deal. Maybe it is hard for her and she doesnt like talking about it. I know its hard for my friend who lost her dad 10 years ago.
