Children are people that need to be conceived between two loving and financially supportive parents. Too many babies are being born into poverty so that their mothers can claim welfare checks, food stamps and free housing. It's not fair to the children and to the people who actually work for a living. Our checks are being drained to support familes who wont get off their asses and work instead of staying home making more babies for the government to support. There are plenty of health clinics that offer free birth control methods. It hardly cost a thing to prevent yourself from getting pregnant.

Anita, I understand your frustration and anger. I am a hard working mother of two and I would love to stay home with them--but I can't afford too. I get so pissed of at people WHO ARE ABUSING THE SYSTEM---Abusing the system equals people who don't use birth control knowing that they can't financially afford to bring a child into this world. That is ABUSE if you PLAN on using Medicaid and Welfare. Even if it is only 2-6% of my taxes--that is MY MONEY!!!!!

If I know or find out that people (that I know) aren't reporting income or not reporting living with their Baby's daddy, or anyway lying to the medicaid/welfare office--I will turn your A$$ in so fast your head will spin. Then you will have to pay back every penny!!!

Answer from "SHE" - you must be the bitter under-educated Abuser of the system. Get a JOB.

I thought I was in love and we would be living happily;y ever after! It doesn't always work that way me and my 3 kids are living on section 8 have food stamps etc. we definitely do NOT think we are living it up. I have a college education but struggle to get a good paying job daycare costs are outrageous $500.00mo.. and even though I am lucky enough to own a car the expenses insurance and gas almost make it too expensive to get there. We don't rent movies or eat pizza on weekends, no Disneyland, no cable TV or video games, we don't have a back yard barbecue, trampoline, cell phones or car alarms. my kids get new school supplies from "agencies" I swallow pried to ask for camp scholarships we got to the food bank and sometimes my kids schoolmates families are volunteering that day.WHY on gods green earth would you think i would want to bring more kids into this world when i struggle with the ones ive got. I'm not lazy. you are ignorant and need to spend a few days in welfare office observing the people that come in for help. you just might learn a thing or two!

I'm doing my part. I work for a living and I am putting myself through school to further my education. There are no children in my near future until I have gotten married and graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. I even get the free birth control from the health clinic. I guess you could say I'm too proud to beg the government for money to support a child I should be able to support on my own.

WPA (Works progression administration) replace into created with the aid of great melancholy. maximum of those jobs have been probable no longer in all probability mandatory, a minimum of no longer good away, even yet it replace into the only variety government ought to get most of the thousands and thousands of guys with out artwork to do some thing, make slightly money, and probable circumvent "inner conflicts" interior the country! those days while issues start to look in user-friendly terms a sprint equivalent to the 1930's melancholy, nicely there are a number of people available which will inform you "a conflict is mandatory"! A conflict with yet another u . s . a ., of direction. Now, what you're saying approximately people staying on welfare becaue they can not locate extra clever paying jobs, I haven't any theory pertaining to to the regulation on your state, yet myself being from Florida that should a technique or the different be seen a WELFARE state, the only people who get welfare (and in user-friendly terms at the same time as proving to be working or effectively searching for artwork) are single mothers. men could get some foodstamps for the era of their short unemployment, yet actually no money.

what a terrible way to judge people. you know there may be some People out there that do that. but others happen to start out in marriage and then end up with cruel husbands and wives that take everything and leave the spouse with the children with no where to go and no way to get food or clothing in order to survive. I sure hope you never end up as one of the people you are judging! but that usually happens. so Karma goes. but don't worry there are systems and companies put in place to give you and yours shelter and help you get back on your feet! you should really do the research on the statistics before you open your mouth and pass judgment on something you obviously know nothing about! just a thought. I have been in both situations and I am grateful the help was there when i needed it. and as for your comment on lazy @sses well I worked for a living before and after the situation arose so I would be insulted by your comment, however my taxes paid for this system and all i see when i read your statement is PURE IGNORANCE! GET EDUCATED AND TRY NOT TO HATE SO MUCH ITS NOT GOOD FOR THE REST OF US WHEN YOU SPEW SUCH NEGATIVITY INTO THE UNIVERSE.
MUCH LOVE AND PEACE YOUR WAY!

The government is too lenient on people who don't need help and too hard on the ones who need help. The decent people can't get help because of all these society leeches we have. The government needs to step up and make it tougher on people. In my state, you can't get food stamps unless you are working, and have a child under 18 living in your home, whether you need them or not. You can't get Medicaid unless you have a child under 18. There are circumstances that soemtimes over ride this, but they only work for certain types of people.

As one of six siblings, I have to say that things were a bit rough growing up. My parents didn't have children to get anything for free--my dad became ill (cancer), and was unable to work for years - until his death.

Yes, we needed to get food stamps, medicaid (especially because he was in the hospital so long), and for a while were in low-income housing. Then we started getting a VA Pension (as my dad was a veteran of the Vietnam War), and were doing somewhat better.

My dad was true to his Catholic religion, and did not believe in birth control - and that was his right. No more children were born after he became ill - because he became ill.

The money we got was from the Veteran's Administration - and it paid our bills. No one in my family is ashamed of that - my father risked his life to earn the right to that pension. Shame on you.

Some people in this world are very lazy. Always have been, always will be. But the government blames it on them. I mean if that money wasn't being spent on programs like that it would just be spent on more nukes or something. It isn't like they would give it to the hard-working middle class.

i suppose there's more to their story, and not everybody has the same story. read, There Are No Children Here by: Alex Kotlowitz (i think that's how you spell his name). it's an eye opening view of families who live in the projects. it's obviously not all daisies and butterflies.
