It was very sad that many innocent victims died in the attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki but it prevented the U.S from having to invade the Japanese mainland at the cost of millions of Americans lives. A survey was taken but the U.S government and they estimated that over a million U.S servicemen would be killed in the attacks on japans mainland. Plus the countless number of Japanese civilian and Japanese military casualties that would be in result of an attack. The attacks at Hiroshima and Nagasaki together only resulted in around 214,000 casualties. In terms of life lost the invasion of the Japanese mainland would have been much worse than the attacks of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Also there is strong evidence that the Japanese had worked on atomic bombs themselves and they could have eventually used them on us. Some of the people who have responded to this question are absolute idiots and are clearly misinformed of the events that took place in WW2.

No it was wrong to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Atomic weapons are indiscriminate weapons, as well as weapons of mass destruction, and kills men, women, and children indiscriminately.
Also many suffer from the long term effects even unto this day over 60 years later - such as kelomas (spelling?) that are lump that grows from burn scars that have to be periodically surgically removed.
The Japanese people have a memorial park and museum in Hiroshima, and have a flame which they will only extinquish when there are no more atomic weapons on earth. Thus they feel deeply about nuclear disarmament.

Dropping the atom bomb is the best thing to happen to the world because the Japanese think they can go around raping, plundering and conquering other people and their countries. They need to be taught a big lesson never to do it again. Had US not bombed them they would still be bullying the world around. Now their constitution states that they can never go to war. How great is that. The US is the big brother to the world. Entities such as Hitler, the colonial Japanese and Sadam Hussein should be eliminated from the surface of this earth. No regrets at all.

in the previous answering this question we could understand the actual truth of that conflict consultation.the dropping the atom bomb is got here about due the technical default which includes verbal replace situation on that element.jap and American are taking about the conflict with the aid of some warm controversy jap are not any more happy with the yankee, so the jap commence the conflict from the conflict aeroplanes, after some time once again the conflict end talks ensue between both international locations and the both international locations had chuffed, so the jap deliver the guidelines to their troop yet regrettably the guidelines s are not any more conveyed in the right time, so the jap commence to drop the bomb and commence to shout,so this makes the individuals to drop the atom bombs after this. even although technical default writes the jap fade, dropping the atom bomb by ability of the individuals is the right comments by ability of mentally. because that jap knows the failures of atom bomb, proper this second they are far off from the nuclear invasions after occupies the important marketplace of the universe.

Hard to say yes or no. In the end it is believed that it saved more lives in which case yeah it was right. To the one who commented about it gave an unconditional surrender that is what we were after. Japan seeking peace on IT'S terms still makes them more of the victor. Also remember that by this it basically ended Japan going to a fighting war again. They have an army that is intelligence and a small one for defense only. In the end we may have done a greater good by dropping the bomb.

The Japanese Military were teaching their civilians to fight with farm implements and bamboo spears. The Allied casualties were estimated at two million. I really don't know what Japanese casualties would have been, but my guess is well in excess of Ten Million.
Dropping the bombs saved countless lives, but I think I would have waited a couple of more days to drop the second one to try a little diplomacy.

It did bring the war to an end and the Japanese civilians have no right to claim victim status over the millions of people enslaved by the Imperial Japanese military throughout the Pacific.

No. Japan sought peace with the United States on several occasions. The only purpose for dropping the atom bomb was to force Japan to surrender unconditionally. Several thousand U.S. service men died needlessly just to accomplish this goal. It was totally unnecessary.

Pearl Harbor was a fraud put on by the American military to have a reason to attack Japan so we could suppress their growth and technology-- basically kicking them back a few decades so we could get ahead...
That's what some people say-- I am not sure of the details myself...
Some are saying precisely the same thing about 9/11 -- kinda scary but who really knows?
