I wear bandanas all the time! I hate my hair and I think I look a lot better in my bandanas. But recently I realized that, although my hair is growing, the sides are thinning and falling out. My mother and a couple of other people say its because I wear the bandanas too often. Anyone got any answers? Are they right?

My hair is so uneven, short, and ugly (thanks to my Mom who messed it up!) Thats why I insist on wearing bandanas, until it grows to a lengtht I'm comfortable with.

Actually wearing bandanas, as long as you're not knotting up your hair up in the ties, will protect your hair from being all tangled up and blown around. Depending on the length of your hair, you could put it up in a pretty bun, too. Sorry you hate your hair; I've sent you a bunch of links to various hair care websites. Most of them are geared towards long hair, but the tips they have will help you protect and make the most of your hair, whatever length you want to keep it. You may find a new love for your hair that you never had before. :) Also check out the last link; this store sells nice silk bandanas that look like the regular cotton ones. Good luck; try to go easy on your mom. She means well and she loves you.

As long as the bandana is made of a breathable material and you are still brushing and washing your hair, you should be fine. We normally lose 75-100 hairs a day. But if you hate your hair that much, try getting a really great haircut. Aveda salons are the best, in my opinion, because their stylists have ongoing education.

if u wear them all the time yes they can. Your hair needs air. thats just like if u pull your hair back into a pony tail all the time the middle will start to break and fall out.
stop wearing bandanas so often girl.... its droppin
try some other styles and get you hair trimmed for it to grow back out and use some ant-breakage products

I've heard that if men wear hats all the time, eventually their hair will wear down from the act of putting on and taking of the hat for many years let's say. I also agree with one of the other posts on here that you need to let your hair and scalp breathe to keep it healthy.

I guess a bandanna would be similar to a hat for those reasons I stated.
