Don't give up!!! Are you kidding!!! Houston in one of the most successful medical centers worldwide... you should get a job easily!!! If you must leave, at least stay in Texas... if your child makes the top 10% in high school they are guarenteed to get into any college or university of their choice... plan ahead!!! But also check out the medical centers in the larger areas in Texas... especially Austin. I know for a fact that they have some of the highest salaries in the country. Good luck to you both!!! Best Wishes!!!

I lived in Houston for 12 years and true enough the medical center is massive there are plenty of medical jobs else where. I have moved to Augusta, Georgia. Here we have the Medical College of Georgia (MCG), the largest teaching hospital in the SE. I used to work for BCBS at 610 and Westheimer and I often delt with alot of Drs that attended and graduated from MCG. Good Luck!

Spokane, WA has mild weather, reasonable cost of living, great nature and tons of openings in medical field, being like the retiree and hospital capital of the Inland NW.
