I am a great adveturist, and as every young person I would like to travel and see the wporld. But, people from my country- Macedonia are 'stopped',because no matter where they go, they need Visa.(which costs over 35euros, per peson). The chances to get Visa are also very problematic and expencive, and sometimes they can be prolong for months. For an example, our neighbours the Bulgarians don't even need Visa for USA, and croats can go in Austria, Italy, SLovenia only with personal ID's, and for England they don't need Visa.
Are there any programs, projects, plans to help to young macedonians to travel, to meet people, other nations, cultures, and be as normal as their friends and other young people all over.
I am a member of NGO here in Macedonia, and I am travelling frequently at different seminars, summits, workshops over Europe, and believe me, I have always the same problem -Visa. In the ambassy we are not treated as we should.

I'm sorry to hear that..and I know that it is a great problem!
And very unfair. I am not even Macedonian and I have a British passport...but I was stopped two hours at the Greek border because they thought I was from Macedonia!!!!

So for you it must be awful :-(

And I don't think Western Europeans or Americans..understand how hard it is for you when your passport is worthless.

I think the situation will get better now..that Macedonia is stable..and has started admittance talks with the EU...
As the prospect of EU entry becomes more realistic, I'm sure restrictions will lift!!

And you must remember until quite recently restrictions were hard for Croatians too. I had a friend from Croatia who despite paying for a university education for 4 years in Britain...was refused a visa when she tried to return to the UK after a holiday. And that was only three years ago!!!

If you are under 30..there are aupair programs that you could travel on without too much hassle..and the UK now has a visa scheme for voluntary work...but you are wanting just the ordinary tourist visa...
The only thing I can suggest to make it easier is join a cultural exchange and they could help you...

BTW Seychelles and Malaysia do not need a visa :-)))

What are you saying? Macedonians can travel around the world like any other Greek! They can travel in European Union with their ID and they don't need any visa for most other countries!
You mean you are from Makedonija a Slavic state that emerges from Yugoslavia!!
Unfortunately as Makedonija (or Slavic Macedonia or FYROM) still doesn't meet the international criteria (economical, political, democratically,) and therefore it is still impossible to travel with out visa! (European Union has very strict rules and you need more time to meet them)
Never the less don’t worry!! In a few years your country will be in a better condition and you will be able to travel more frequently aboard!
{This is for “shogunly”:
Do not confuse real Macedonia in Greece which is the birth place of Alexander the great with a small state that emerged from Yugoslavia. That small state is called Republic of Makedonija (its own name!!) or Fyrom (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) (the international name) or Slav Macedonia (as all the neighbors’ states called it)! ). The confusion has started a few years ago because that small state started to use the name “Republic of Macedonia” causing a great confusion with real Macedonia in Greece.
Here is what the first President of Slav Macedonia, Kiro Gligorov said: “We are Slavs who came to this area in the sixth century. We are not descendants of the ancient Macedonians" (Foreign Information Service Daily Report, Eastern Europe, February 26, 1992, p. 35).
Also, Mr Gligorov declared: "We are Macedonians but we are Slav Macedonians. That's who we are! We have no connection to Alexander the Greek and his Macedonia… Our ancestors came here in the 5th and 6th century" (Toronto Star, March 15, 1992). }
