The best dating sites to use in any country are those which require a paid subscription, and have vetted profiles with full statistics. Requiring a paid subscription with credit card reduces the adverts, as well as making it more difficult for married people who simply want fun on the side.
Having full statistics (including last logon time) will help you to filter out deadwood profiles (profiles which are no longer used, but still registered on the site), as well as giving you full description of the person.
A vetted site prevents people from putting pornographic pictures on their profile.

Be careful on dating sites firstly as many men on there are not always as genuine as they may seem.
Having said that, although match.com has a lot of choice, the men on yahoo personals seem more genuine.
Or try speed dating. It gives faster results than internet dating and as you see the person face-to-face you can sense any attraction instantly.
Try www.slowdating.com and take along a friend for moral support.

Take what you are told on these sites with a pinch of salt; my first "date" was 6' tall, graying, and 67 according to his prospectus.....(I am 65) When I met him he was 5'2" tall- up to my shoulder, had about three hairs all of which were sprouting out of his nose, and was at least 80!!! Another took his mother with him everywhere he went,and a third told so many lies he kept contradicting himself!!! They arent all like that......just most of them!! Another was 73 and looking for a slim, elegant woman under 28!!!!! Try one site at a time, but only sign up for two weeks as you may not get any hits; they make special offers if you sign up for three months, I did that first time, and had absolutely not one reply.
