People have just become lazy and they don't fear getting a ticket for not using their signal properly. I bet things would change if cops started cracking down on turn signals.

When I drive at rush hour, if I use my turn signal, I see the person near my blind spot does not back off and let me over. Instead, they floor it and try to keep me from getting over. So now a request to get over has become some kind of warning that there may be another car in front of someone. I don't know about your town, but this happens very consistently to me.
The only practical solution is to NOT use the signal. Hmph.

I would think that yes, this definitely causes more road rage. Not using turn signals is one of my pet peeves! I can't stand it, all it takes is like half a second and lets everyone on the road know what you're doing so they can adjust their driving as such. Thanks for such a great post, hopefully the lazy people will read it and start using turn signals.

Some people are just plain inconsiderate. I guess this is universal. It doesn't happen only to your place but to every place in this planet. Believe me, I drive here in the Middle East and boy! I would just see a car or far worse, a Hummer suddenly cutting me. Some are careless who don't mind putting other people at risk. Maybe they need re-orientation on how to drive properly. Showing them "graphic slideshows" of what happens with their wreckless driving might just wake them up.

Sometimes people forget or their signals are broken. For the rest of the time they are just being rude and making driving very dangerous for others around them.

this goes back to manners no one has them no one has time for them and everyone is in a hurry!
No one stops to think they may be causing some greif to someone else no one stops to think their wouldn't be so much stress and road rage if they did use the blinkers gave plenty of notice of change of lanes or turning or stopped weaving in and out of traffic like they are in a indy race!
When society as a whole learns to slow down and stop expecting everything yesterday then we might find the time for the manners and who knows it may even help go towards world peace!

Oh - people use signals these days - they just use diffrent signals.
The one I see most often is the middle finger.
Courtecy on the road? I think that died with courtecy in general.

Not many will follow the law...many just think theres nothing you can do on the road but drive and beep your horn and cuss. Road rage is road rage. Nothing you can do about it except when cops are around.

I agree. People, it's not hard to flick the turn signal up or down. It's much safer to let someone know you're coming in the lane rather than just putting yourself in there and causing accidents.
