No, you don't have to have a baby shower for all your kids. You don't even have to have one for your first child. Usually a person only has a baby shower for the first child. HOWEVER if the children are spaced more than four years apart I think it would be perfectly understandable to have another baby shower, because things changes soooooo much in four years and baby items with go out of style or wear down with age.
I have 3 boys (ages 7,6,2) I had a baby shower with my oldest, and with my youngest. The first one I know about, because my mom threw it for me and I live out of state from her. With the second baby shower, I was surprised by my classmates and instructors (I was in college).

Some people believe you should only have a shower for your first child, however each child is special and should be treated as such from the beginning. Also, if you have a girl and then a boy, on your second shower you can get gifts for a baby boy (ie: toys, clothes, gift certificates etc.) that you don't already have from your previous child.

First, you don't HAVE to have a baby shower. I didn't have one for my son because I as in the middle of moving and I didn't no anyone but my husband once we got there. My best friend moved up here and she's throwing me one for my baby due later this year. You can have one for every baby but if you don't want any, don't have them.

i think that you should have a baby shower for every child...but make a list of things you DONT need. like if your first is a girl, and your seconds a girl, you dont need all that many blankets and clothes if you saved from the 1st. if you have a girl 1st and then a boy, i think you should have the same kind of baby shower as if it were your first. you get alot of good, big, savable things at your first, then littler, disposible stuff at your others, like diapers, bibs, bath things, baby books...etc. anyone who thinks a mother of more than one should only get one shower prob. isnt a mother, or doesnt think too highly of their unborn children.

in my opinion only have one for the first child. i have a friend who threw her own baby showers (b*lls the size of church bells) and had a total of 3. way tacky, in my opinion, to have more than 1.

A child is a very precious gift. Why not celebrate the miracle of all of them and have a shower in their honor?
