No we don't believe in him as being the son of God. we only believe that he is the christ and a prophet of God.
what you said is right EXCEPT for this:
"Qur’an and later Islamic doctrine, in conscious distinction from the biblical accounts, is that although prophets are capable of human errors, God protects them from committing sins and also protects them from excruciating suffering or humiliating experiences."
that's not right we believe that prophets make mistakes and they are just like us humans BUT they are more fearful of Allah then us. before they became prophets they were very good people they always searched for the truth and so on. and that's why God chooses them as prophets BUT that doesn't mean that they dont do any mistakes.
there is a long saying of muhammad peace be upon him that states the sin of every prophet.
yes prophets make mistakes BUT as much as we do them.

Well, the belief that Jesus Christ is the son of God is not really a cornerstone of Islam. Jesus, in Islam, was just a messenger of God and the Masih (Messiah) and was sent to guide the Children of Israel with the Injil (the Gospel) and foretold the coming of Muhammad. He was born to a virgin Maryam (Mary) and did perform miracles. However, they think that he was brought up alive into Heaven, like Elijah and Enoch, and not crucified for the sins of the world. Jesus Christ in Christianity is the son of God, the Messiah, and the only way to Heaven. So, if someone believes that Jesus was the son of God, then they're either a Messianic Jew or a Christian, since that's not a characteristic of Islam.

To the Muslims there is only ONE GOD. There is no 3-in-1 deal. They hold Jesus in very high regard as a great prophet, however

Firstly, Thank you for allowing me to respond to this Question.
if you go to anyone and ask them to explain to you the trinity, they will not be able to give you an adequete answer.
Never once did Jesus (peace be upon him) claim to be God. If you look into the bible, if you have a red lettered one that highlights supposedly what Jesus has said, than never once will you find that he told his people to worship him. On the contrary, he said "Worship Thy Father Alone" i.e. worship God Alone.
Third of All, In Islam we believe in Jesus as a highly respected Prophet of Allah (God). just like Moses, Adam, Abraham, Noah, etc.
They All came with the same message : To worship the creator Alone.
Indeed, it is very blasphemous to say that Jesus Is God.
#1. Jesus was A human, and everyone will agree upon that. meaning he ate, slept, used the bathroom, etc. Things that Muslims Believe are not attributes fit for the Lord of the Universe, because he is free of all needs.
#2. The Christians believed that Jesus died on the Cross. How can God Die? if that were the case, than how can it be that he would be on the cross saying "Why have you forsaken me" to the one who is in heaven, if they were one in the same. and how is it that He knew he would die, but didnt know at the same time?
and if he died for 3 days, who was God during those 3 days?
nothing makes sense.
but everything in Islam Makes sense. wouldnt it be more logical that he were a Righteous Prophet of God, rather than God himself?
If you believe
1. that there is no object worthy of worship but Allah (God)
2. you believe in the angles
3. Heaven and hell
4. The Books that came before (the Old testament, Gospels, Quran)
5. you believe in the all the Prophets of God starting from Adam, including Moses, Jesus, Abraham, Noah, and Muhammad peace be upon all of them)
and finally
6. Divine decree.
than welcome to Islam.
Finally, if you do not wish to listen to anything i've said, at least do one thing which you have nothing to lose.
Seek guidance from God himself to guide you on the strait path, and see where it leads you.
I Swear by Allah, that if you Sincerely and whole-heartedly ask Him for Guidance to the truth. He will lead you to it.
you have nothing you lose.
I ask God to guide you all to the truth. ameen.

Totally correct, muslims beleive that jesus is a prophet of islam, christians just go over the top in loving him, this is the islamic beleif.
Also isa (jesus) will come back close to judgement day, since he isnt dead, and will defeat the antichrist ( dajjal), makes sense to me.

No,muslims does not believe in Jesus as being the son of God but as His messenger and prophet rather.. in Islam there is no association of other being with God. He is One. your researches are accurate and true..also it is God who gave Jesus the power to do miraculous things..we should not misinterprete and says that Jesus is God or son of God. but Jesus christ known as Isa is accepted and very much respected in Islam as one of God's greatest prophets!

Actually, in OT, God Himself announces He shares His glory with no one. Jesus is the Lord Himself, wearing flesh. Jesus is rejected by the Jews, if you recall, and is crucified because He names Himself the Lord and Master. ( Jesus causes all things, even this, to be. ) Hosea 13:10 ..... Matthew 2:2 ... Matthew 27:37 ... John 13:13

No, they believed he was the second greatest prophet, but believes nobody is divine other than Allah. Allah is so great, even if you broke off an unimaginably small piece of his power it would be too much for anything other than him to handle, or at least that's probably something close to what they might think.
