What makes muhammed a prophet?

dont prophets usually ...oh i dont know... write prophecies!?


specifically , what proves or disproves to you that Muhammad is truly speaking Gods word ?

First of all,an orphan man by himself,who was grown n a desert where there is scarcity of water and food,tribes battling and killing each other,woman enslaved,by himself taught those people how to be cultured,tribal warswere stopped,from his followers arisen anation that spread knowledge and taught the world a lot(avicenna(medicine,poetry,pharmacy),Al Hassan Ibn al haitham(a phisicist).Al khwarizmi(Algebra,Algorithms are named after him)etc........,then he is a great man.Befor everything started,before the Prophet(Peace and blessings be upon him)he was callec the honest,after getting the message,he was still kalled the honest even by his own enemies.Now we come to miracles,in Al khandak, a battle that muslims fought with the Prophet(PBUH),ther was a huge rock tat none of the men with the Prophet(PBUH)could break,Prophet Mohammed(PBUH) broke it,a spark came out and he said Allah Akbar,Opened Persia,Allah Akbar,opened the lands of AL SHAM(known now as Lebanon,Syria,and Iraq),years after muslims opened them.one day ,the whole muslim army was starving,a ma n approached the Prophet(PBUH) and told him that he had a little piece of chicken to eat,the Prophet refused to eat alone,invited the whole army to eat that piece of chicken,the whole army was full,the owner of the house went and found that the chicken was untouches except from a bite,and so many more,to know visit www.islamonline.net,ask in the section known as discover islam

a prophet is someone who god speaks to through the angel gabriel. prophecies are not neccessary, however Muhammed s.a.w. did prophecize about the last days. the qur'an is what proves that muhammed is truly speaking god's word.

Muslims say that his prophecy was based on the miracle of the Quran. However, some other people say that a miracle that is based on language can't be proven as a miracle as long as Islam was suppose to be for all people with all languages and tongues.

You have to know some basis about Prophet Mohamed life and society .It is not easy to explain here, but let me make few notes:
1. he wasilletral he could not read or write in a society filled with poets and critics of poets ,the koran challenges them to make one example as koran "sora" or even "verse", they didnot and they couldnot
2. koran spoke about Alroam,old Romans who used to fight persians often, In Koran it was mentioned that although at that ttime alroam lost the battle but they will win in a few years and that what happened .My advise to you if you really want the truth you have to study very hard

no, prophecies are revealed to them, the quran ( word of allah) was revealed to the prophet muhammed(saw).
Our prophet revealed to us what the signs of judgement day was etc and he was an example to us in how to live out our lives.
