I like woman, but like them to look like women. So why do lesbians (who also like women) go for women who are quite manly, or at least dress and try to appear masculine.

I don't mean any offense by this question, it's just something that's always puzzled me.

I have NEVER understood this one myself Tom. It is rather puzzling. ESPECIALLY the lesbians who swear they HATE men. Then why they bed masculine , manly butch type women?! I think its because at heart, this butch is still a woman. WHether she wears mens clothes, shortens her name to a more gender neutral one or even wears a strap FULL TIME. This WOMAN still has the sensitivity of a woman, the mentality indicative of femininity and still goes through the "womanly" (monthly) things that all Feminine women do.

they accept them for who they are in their outward apperance because of who they are on the inside! we should all be so lucky as to adapt this way of thinking, huh?

Remember, when we are in our comfort zones, where ever and with WHOM ever that may be, we are our most vulnerable selves. Regardless of the many masks we must wear outside, day 2 day!

Heh. My friend and I were talking about this the other day. Apparently a woman in my state got arrested for being out late at night with two underage teenage girls. She was 21 and the girls were 13 and 14. She had met them on myspace. Well the 21 year old woman, is a lesbian and she (not meaning to sound stereotypical) looked like a man. I've seen alot of hardcore lesbian who cut their hair really short like a man's hair cut and they don't wear feminine clothes. My guy friend asked me why can't lesbian girls be girly like straight girls are. And I told them that straight girls dress girly to attract men. Lesbians dress manly to attract other women and turn them gay.

I don't think that this is the case with all lesbians and when it does happen it's just a preference of the individuals involved. I have lesbian and bi-sexual friends where both women are very feminine.

I also know some straight couples where the man is quite effeminate. Some of my female straight friends like effeminate men just like some lesbians like masculine women. We all have our preferences and find different qualities attractive.

Because woman on woman sex is a normal part of heterosexuality. Lesbianism, however is not normal. This is pretty clear by looking at all the other ways women who identify themselves as lesbians, are abnormal.

Since, woman on woman sex is really about heterosexuality, lesbianism involves one of the women acting like a man. This is one of the ways they are abnormal. Instead of bringing a man into the relationship, one of them takes on the role of a man. The irony is, of course, that they hate men....part of the pathology. Of course, they often go through periods of having sex with men and hating the men and hating themselves for it (did I mention lesbians were abnormal).

Who knows, but most lesbians look and dress like women, the ones who dress like men, go for the dainty type of females and play the male role by dressing and acting like a rough and tuff man. They want to be in charge and pick the women who need someone to look out for them. It all role playing...........

because normally they happen to like men but do not feel fulfilled by them, so they seek the same thing in another plane. Lesbians happen to like femenine women. The ones that look masculine are lesbian-butch (they feel like men). I hang out with gay and lesbians because i like the way they are (open minde) but i'm str8. these women are bisexual most of the cases.

ive had this convo before!it can be a signal sometimes, like how in hell are you supposed to tell a lesbian from a hetro female?well the woman with work pants dr martin boots and a short haircut or the lady in a dress?it doesnt always have to be the case, but it can be the same in gay men,why prance around looking like a total queen?a gay friend of mine prefers his men to be straight acting.these people can be classed as "in scene" or "on the scene",i myself like both men and women,i like my men with long hair, preferably blonde, but my females can be a wider spectrum!with the butcher girls they like to have a more masculine role.thats all i spose!

I think a lot of str8 people can only identify the gays that are butch or flamers. Therefore, they think all lesbians go for butch females. There are so many of us living among who you would never suspect as being gay unless we told you. All the fem lezzies and butch guys are incognito to the str8s, but we can identify them in a flash.

i'm no longer a lesbian, yet I easily have met many lesbian females who're wonderful. I easily have also met many who're more effective an the masculine facet. i imagine you're making a marginally large generalization the following.

i think you are just being stereotypical about a female-female couple and the assumption in your mind that a lesbian couple always consists of a butch, 'manly' looking female. it isnt always the case whatsoever, just like for a gay couple its not always the case that both men are (or at least one of them) terribly camp.
