The two are not mutually exclusive. I think we should all ask, if the US is on God's side, or is God on our side, or does he take sides? Today's generation is faced with a decision, as all generations are. Are the millions of immagrents to be welcomed, or shunned? The decision we make, will determine whether this nation is heaven, or hell on earth.

you're misunderstanding the concept of the Kingdom of Heaven

the kingdom is already all around us

it's simply a perspective, or a way of looking at things: ex:

a girl was living a boring life so she decided to go in search of excitement, she hiked up a hill and when night came she set her shoes facing the way she wanted to go...somebody thot it would be funny and turned the shoes 180 degrees in the other direction
when she woke she went the way her shoes pointed, came to a familiar city, onto a familiar street to a familiar family and lived happily ever after

or if that doesn't make sense:
2 brothers were walking on a beach, they both exclaim,"oh look!" one finds a seashell while the other finds an empty bag of chips...

I hope you get what i meant by that

if you meant Heaven as in the place after death by the Kingdom of Heaven then I would want to spend my life with God, but I also would want to help all the nonbelievers so that they wouldn't have to suffer and their descendants wouldn't have to suffer

I believe that we can have Heaven on Earth. The only requirement to fullfil this thought is to Love thy neighbor as yourself. And you don't have to believe in God to do that, nor do you have to live in the USA.
