No. I think it is simply that more and more people are living in areas where there are a lot of natural disasters (near oceans, where earthquakes occur frequently, wildfire-prone areas), so we "hear" about it more often in the news. More people are getting hurt cuz more people choose to live in those disaster-prone areas.

Accepting God certainly wouldn't hurt us when natural disasters occur. On the other hand believing in specific religions sometimes does, as many wars have been fought in Gods name. On the other other hand accepting God isn't likely to change these natural disasters. The increase in extreme weather is because of the increase in surface and atmospheric temperatures. The temperature increase corresponds to an increase of energy, and this energy is released in tsunami's, hurricanes and the like. We could reduce these effects by decreasing the amount of solar heat trapping hydrocarbons released to the atmosphere, due to burning coal, internal combustion engines and so forth. But since we're unlikely to do that anytime soon, believing in God is a good idea, so we can find some comfort as the strength and frequency of these storms increases.

God hasn't done anything. He has not even lifted a finger to cause this to happen. Sin is why these things are happening. There is sin the Earth. The more sin there is the more chaos in the Earth. This is in bible and was a major part of the prophecies in the bible also. It is sad that atheists and so-called Christians are confused by saying that God caused this! God is not an author of confusion. His judgment has not come against the earth!

What you see are like birth pains. Jesus is coming soon and what we see now is a cakewalk compared to what will happen right before he shows up and right after.

The bible says that the war will be so gruesome that some people will have the job of digging up the corpses. Those that travel, if they see a dead body coming up through the sand, they are to mark it so it can be dug up and buried.

This will go on for months, and that is AFTER Jesus comes back and sets up his earthly kingdom.

So is God mad, I bet he is pretty ticked at America but there is still a church here so his hand will be stayed till the time is right.
But when grace goes,,,,,not a time to be a resident of planet earth.

I suggest you start by getting an education. Hurricanes and tornadoes are apart of the global climate. Sometimes they are week sometimes they are devastating. It's like gambling sometimes you win other times you go broke.

God is not the issue here. The issue is ignorance. It is easy to pray and to say well that's the way god wants it to be. He died because god wanted him to go to heaven. It's a little harder when you use your mind and education for rational educated thought and say well we are screwing up the environment and Joe died because he drank to much. Blind faith is a kind term for ignorance. I guess you believe in crusaders. It's going to be a tough world for you unless you realize things happen and that's that.

Wars happen because diplomacy fails, fires happen because a part of the fire triangle ignited, tsunamis happen because of earth quakes. Earth quakes happen because of plate tectonics. It's that simple. Grasp the concept and stop pushing it on religion. Religion is the biggest instigator of the worlds issues. If we did away with it the world would be that much greater.

No, God loves us no matter what we do. He is always with us to support us through tough times and rejoices with us in happy times. God does not make bad things happen to us. I believe there is true evil in the world- whether you call it The Devil or any other name. I believe that humanity has made the world change so that we have pollution, famine, birth defects, wars, even holy wars. Because of man's greed and egos, humanity has poisoned our water and air , caused terrible things to happen to us. But God keeps giving us more chances by imparting knowledge to scientists to make up for our stupid errors, by small generosities and kindnesses given us by total strangers, and by giving us a conscience to know when we have done something to hurt another living creature. God gives us the earth's beauty if we only take the time to look around and see it.

To answer your question and to reply to Toms anwers at the same time, I would like to say. 1. God is angry at the sin that is going on in the world and that we as a Nation, whose principles were founded on the Bible we have been turning our back on. God does not hate us as people but, he cannot look on sin without it being dealt with. God does exist. Just look around you. He allows these things to happen so that it may turn our hearts back to him. Yes there are a lot of problems in the world but God is still very much in control and Always will be.

No, I think God is very disappointed in us. You'd think after he wiped out mankind with a flood, we have gotten it right. I think mankind is at an all time low. The things that are acceptable now is amazing, the way provocative way we dress, the things allowed on TV, sexual behavior. Ten years ago, the things you see on prime time tv would have been on pay per view. Bible says as these events increase man should be watching for Christs return.

God allows tragedy to teach compassion. From disaster, you will also find stories of incredible humanity and love.

I believe that God grieves just like we do. But when I look at 9/11, I can see that out of that our country united and instances of greatness arose.

I think we disappoint God, and that He does anger the way a father gets angry with one of his children. But I also know He loves.

God allows bad things to happen so that we may appreciate the blessings in our lives. People take God into their lives everyday, and bad things still happen, so no, I do not believe that if everybody accepted God that these things would not happen.
