I knew someone called Brenda Davies. The chances of it being the same person are very slim though surely. This person lived in the West Midlands and sadly passed away a few years ago, she was in about her 60s I would say. Email me if you want to know more.

Somerset house in London has all the birth/marriage and death certificates for the UK. You can actually pay a small fee and they will look up the information for you - ie if the sister ever got married her married name and where she got married.
This will give you an idea of where to search from.

If you join genesunited.co.uk which is a family tree sight you might get somewhere with finding your mums mum and sister, i managed to find my Grandfathers side of the family on there and i never new half of them existed, good luck

you could try genes reunited it's part of the well known friends reunited website or maybe even the salvation army i've read somewhere before that they can help with finding people. GOOD LUCK!
