I'm tired of beating around the bush(excuse the pun, if you're mature enough) and I would like to try the direct approach, but I thought I'd guage reaction first. So answer truthfully. Thank you.

We've been friends for years and lately we've kinda been flirting back and forth, but we both aren't sure of where this is heading, so I just want to clear the air.

I recently lived through this exact experience. The tables were turned, but I do not believe that is relevant. This is a matter of vulnerability and risk. Risking your heart and your pride. Men and women alike take a big chance on opening up in this manner. The flirting is an indication of her liking you. I think that perhaps the 'liking you' question is a bit vague. It leaves too much room for misinterpretations and beating around the bush...good pun, thought I'd throw it back! To lay it down and finish the questioning once and for all, invite her out. Dinner, dancing, movies, whatever strikes your fancy. Make sure she knows this would be a couples situation...interested? Her immediate reaction is what you need to watch for. Keep a lock on her eyes. They don't lie. She may feel bad if she isn't into that way and try to skirt the issue, she may try to talk out of it to save your feelings. She may not. Just be honest about how you see her reacting. Good luck. Nothing ventured...nothing gained.

Tread carefully....if she's just a friend and you ask her that...it could make her feel pressured especially if she doesn't like you in a romantic way. If you are unsure....set the mood. Ask her for dinner at your house or on a date and set the atmosphere where you both have the opportunity to get cozy and if she warms up then you may get your answer...OR you could be straight up and tell her you need to talk with her about borderlines in your relationship and just be honest with how you feel....but DON'T make her feel pressured. Or you may have a Pepe Le Pew and Kitty situation on your hand. Communication, honesty, and sincerity is the best way to a woman's heart and a great friendship foundation for something more. Good luck!

You know personally I never know what to say exactly to this so why don't you ask her in another way but of course be couragous and don't hide your emotions, why don't you tell her soemthing nice and that you've always liked her and if she would like to go out and do something with you sometimes, if her answer is yes well then why ask, she obviously likes you to go out with you!!!

Yes it is best to be honest about what you feel and what you wonder. If she says yes then you are able to go from there...if she says no then you can stop wondering. You have nothing to loose but your anxiety and worries

Absolutely, you should be able to go up to her and just ask. If she says no then, no sweat, but if she says yes, then she'll probably be really glad you asked instead of assumed!

I think it is perfectly all right to ask!
Believe it or not the girl might be wondering the same thing about you!
Just start with " I was just wondering....."
