Party on and enjoy life while you can, just be supportive.

There are many different kinds of brain tumors, some are benign, some are malign, some can be operated, some can be treated with chemotherapy, radiation or hormones. Don't despair and don't treat your friend as if she were already dying. Be there for he when she wants to talk, talk about the illness and don't act as if it wasn't there. Maybe your friend is lucky and her prognosis is good. Anyway, have a smashing party and make the most of your time together. You can show what your friendship is worth. And remember, a brain tumor is not necessarily a death sentence!

Depends on what kind of party she wants to have. I'd say have a surprise party. Make it a toast, don't get too sappy, she'll believe that she is about to die. For some reason 2005-2006, there has been a lot of brain tumors, esp. amongst the young. I'll keep her in my prayers. Thanks for being a good friend.

I admire your friend for acting brave and normal considering the situation she is in. Like her, it will be quite uncomfortable for everyone, especially those around her who loves her, to celebrate, knowing how serious her condition is. But, life is like that. We make the best of the circumstances we are given. And it will be better for you if you respect her decision about what to do on her birthday and try to make every moment you spend with her special and fun...the way I am sure she wants it to be. Positive mentality is better than if she wants to shut the world off and think of nothing but what situation she is in now. Support her! She will be very glad for that.

some tumors are fix-able and some aren't,unfortunately. my dad died of a brain tumor at 49 years old. he had surgery, it gave all of us a few more months, and he was happy. at the end all he wanted was a bubble bath,a cig, and a beer. everyone no me no, because they were worried about me getting hurt. that is what he wanted, and some how i did it, i didn't tell them i was going to do it. he spent a hour in the tub, beer, cigs. he died the next week, but died happy. good luck, hang in there,do what is in your heart.

Support her in what she wants to do. Make sure she is safe though. Try to proceed with caution. Don't drink and drive. Try to help her live her life to the fullest because tomorrow isn't promised.
