I have to make a decsision... To goto florida or not to go to florida with my grandparents. i want to go but im not sure because my mom thinks its a bad idea and shes getting mad. she thinks ill get homesick even though my cousins going too. i tkink shell get mad if i go, but she said its my decsision and i REALLY do want to go. what should i do?????????help!!!!!!!!!

It sounds more like your mom is going to miss you. Sit down with her and ask her why she really doesn't want you to go. Is she afraid of you flying. Is it because she will miss you a lot and won't say so. Or does she have other legit reasons for not wanting you to go. It's the only way you are going to get your answers. Be honest with your mom and she will be honest with you. If you do go, have fun and good luck.

I'd go to Florida, if your mom gave you that choice, it's a little unfair for her to get mad at you if you go. Parents won't always be happy, though....but don't miss out just to keep her happy. You should do what you want to do. Go, have fun. Sounds like your mom loves and cares about you very much. Just reassure her that you'll be ok, and keep in touch while you're away.

Go, but nkow this: You ARE going during hurricane season, and they're not pretty. As a native of South Florida (Wilma's eye passed directly over my house), you need to have a plan to get the heck out of Dodge if a Category 5 storm is heading your way. Just consider your opitons. Listen to all sides of the story before you make it.

Go. She should be helping to be more independent rather than getting you to think about homesickness. You will regret it if you don't go. Tell her you'll be fine and then think about all the fun you'll have with your cousins in FL.
(I think your mom will miss you alot, and that's why she is so mad.)

I think you should tell your mom you really want to go ..Tell her that if you are not happy and it doesn't work out you can always come back. But that is something you have to find out for yourself :-)
