i just want to know why some people think goths are freaks because we're not ..we smile and have feelings i'm just so fed up what is it because we're different and not all goths cut,do drugs or worship the devil and if some do they have a da*mn good reason

The reason people think Goths are freaks is probably the way they dress. To people of my generation (baby boomer), that type of dress and behavior had a negative connotation. But we baby boomers tried to get across to the generation before us that you "shouldn't judge a book by it's cover", by growing our hair long and wearing bohemian clothing, and we maybe have forgotton that. If I could have known about the Goth movement when my son was little, I could have successfully predicted that he would definitely be one!. He was always fascinated with the macabre, Halloween was his favorite holiday (even more than Christmas!), and he dressed as Dracula every single time, and still does as an adult. (He works in a movie theater) He's just a normal guy that just happens to always dress in black, and I love him just as I do my other children, probably more because he's different.

There isn't actually a thing called 'Goth freak' that person has just blended two words together. It's more like an compliment as 'Goth' isn't offensive anyway and being a 'freak' actually means good in bed but it's a word used for someone who is a bit weird. I'd rather be a bit weird than be 'normal', wouldn't you?

its just that people automatically assume that if ur goth ur a cutter, a druggie, or u worship the devil, and thats just not right. If u want people to realize that u dont do these things, then show them that through good deeds, and being responsible.

Why do you care?
Does it make you uncomfortable to be stared at when
the way you dress BEGS for people to stare?
If you are comfortable in your skin, in your clothes, then
go on and live. Who gives a flip what I think, or what
anyone else thinks. I don't care what you do, as long as
you don't hurt anyone else while doing it.
The issue here is, you aren't comfortable and it sounds like
you are trying to pass that off on the people staring. Sorry,
I won't own it. I have my own issues. More than a magazine
rack, thank you very much. LOL

I do not think that goths are freaks, I think that they are just like everyone else. We all have feelings right? it matters whats on the inside not the outside. The people who think otherwise are just jerks!

blame the media.... the fear of the unknown they are judges as a group rather than an individual, but not every1 judges people by appearance hang in there if people dont want to know because of your outer appearance then their loss
