She needs a serious deep conditioning treatment and if she wants to keep her hair, she should probably shell out some cash for a professional to do it; and I'm not talking Supercuts. Once damaged, there really isn't much more to be done. If money really is an issue, take a trip to a beauty supply. A good one will have a clerk who will point you in the right direction for a good conditioner. One I have used before (sorry I can't remember the brand) is a henna/placenta combo and is great. It comes in little packets. You apply it and then intensify the treatment by adding heat. I have naturally dry hair and this is the only thing that works for me.

Ohh, I feel for her. The best thing I would do is go to Sally's Beauty Supply or something like it and buy, "Chlorestorol". Its a leave-in type cream thats straight protein and it will condition it alot. Don't comb it. Don't brush it. Just use alot of conditioning on it. You don't even have to wash it for a few days. Luckily this is the weekend. And if you have to go out, where a scarf. Just kiddin, but, seriously...do little as possible to let the cuticle close back up and hopefully won't be too damaged. If her hair has been colored alot of over processed already, she might need to get a real short haircut. Unfortunately. Sorry hun.

The Burts Bees treatment is very good. I have heard of using mayonnaise as a conditioner, too. I like a product called Kolestrol that you can buy at beauty supply stores. The perm must have been done wrong.

Matrix sells a great protein pack conditioner. It saved my hair after I chemically burned mine after making the mistake of using an at-home hair color remover.
