The trick with people like that is to start slowly. It is pretty much an addiction to the processed sugars in foods like that, and it's almost like going from withdrawal when you get rid of those sugars.
The first thing to get rid of in my opinion is soda. If you can get him to cut soda out of his diet and start drinking lots of water and not-from-concentrate juices, that's the first step. After he has gotten used to drinking juices he might be more willing to eat fruits, and then other healthy foods.

You are absolutely right!!!! Fruits and Veggies are the key to a good functioning body period. Meats are a nice source of some proteins but other than taste have no more going for them except they will aid in your demise. I was the guy who had meat for every meal every day and i thought i was relatively healthy and felt good. I did a 40 day nothing but fruit cleansing and holy crap, all the heartburn, gas, you name it is gone, gone, gone. Our bodies are made to process fruits and veggies easily, meats some of the time but not constantly. Your friend can look forward to more sickness, gastrointestinal discomfort and possibly serious illnesses if he doesnt at least take a good multivitamin every day with some cleansing herbs also. good luck!!!!1

tell him to go see a nutritionist or a doctor. not eating fruits and veggies isn't healthy, and it can seriously damage his health for the future. as it is, it has gone long enough, you need to help him put an end to it now! if he is stubborn about going to a doctor, try making him new things like pizza, except with veggies on top. a good solution with pizza for example, it replacing the tomato sauce, with fresh tomatoes, it's healthier, and it tastes even better!

Sometimes friend it is hard for people that have not been taught to eat right to eat things that are healthy. It can be a very hard thing for them to do. My nephew and niece are that way and they are young yet. They don't like to try new foods and when they do and they find out that they like them they start eating them. Your friend sounds like he has never been encouraged to eat the thing's that are healthy for him. If you can get him to try a new food that is healthy, encourage him to try different things when he is with you. If that works then you have truly been his friend and have helped him turn the corner to a healthier lifestyle. he may resist at first but keep it up. he will thank you in the long run.

suggest your friend should go to the doctor to get a physical and maybe he should see a nutritionist. Maybe you can make your friend a homemade pizza or cheesburgers with some sort of healthy recipe. you can also have him try a fruit salad with a sugar-water dressing. Saturated fats cause many problems when you get older so he should cut down on saturated fats.

There are healthy ways to eat cheeseburgers and pizza. There are some great recipes on Food Network check them out. Also by just making good things and having him try them may help him decide that eating healthy isn't so bad.

try to get him to taste most of the good tasting fruits and veggies. Tell him plain out that eating like he is could kill him. [it could] Also, try to cook/get someone to cook REALLY good but healthy meals. he might start liking it then. otherwise, i dont know what to tell you. I'm not an expert.

Along with his favorite foods always introduce something he might like...just ask him to try a bite. He needs to acquire a taste for these nutritious foods.

you shouldn't try and get anyone to do what you want them to do. Voice your opinion but dont nag. Give him the dignity and respect to live his own life. Its ok to care but saying it more than once is just being controlling. Allow him to live how he wants. Its his body and his life.
