if you include pre US involvment, 3,280 days. German Surrender was at day 3,276. Japan Surrendered 4 days later.
Controling rulers, Hiter, Mousillini, Roosevelt, Hirohito, and Stallin.

World War Two started on September 9th 1939 and ended with the Japanese surrender mid August 1945. You will have to work the days out coz I'm tired.
Leaders were
Germany - Adolph Hitler, Admiral Canaris (after Adolph commited suicide)
Italy - Mussolini until his own people hanged him from a tree
France - Marshall Petain (surrendered to the Germans and formed Vichy France on the German side). De Gaulle leader of the Free French based in London
Great Britain - Neville Chamberlain, Winston Churchill, Clement Atlee (got elected right at the end in a big election upset for the Conservatives)
USA - Roosevelt, Truman
Japan - Emporer Hirohito
Russia - Stalin
