shocked but these days accepting things as they are instead of trying to avoid or change them. I think it makes a much more interesting journey.

Try thinking about it this way - put yourself in his shoes (really try to). Imagine that you have fought these feelings your whole life because society has told you it's "wrong, unnatural, evil, against God". You try to live life "like everyone else" so you marry, raise a family, love your wife and kids....but one day it's just too much and the unhappiness at being someone you're not takes it's toll on you. You still love the person your wife is and you adore your kids but you want to be happy yourself. Would you want your family to support you and be ther for you? ABSOLUTELY !!!

It's okay to be shocked, upset, angry and sad initially. Ultimately, however, you have to remember that Dad is a human being with feelings and needs to. I would guess he sacrificed a heck of a lot (more than most) for a long time for the sake of his family. If you liked and loved him before, then accept that after the shock wears off he'll still be the same person inside.

Good luck.

Hmmm? Well, aren't people who want sex changes called transgendered as opposed to gay...they really believe that they are the opposite sex, therefore their sexuality is not "gay"- although I have heard of some people who have made the change to the other gender and still had relationships with people of that gender...Anyways, if it were me I would probably try to understand their situation but if I was a kid or a teen I'd be embarassed- it's my honest reaction. As an adult, I am more understanding...

Wow, that's a tough one!!!

Well, you wouldn't stop loving them would you, just because they now wanted to be a woman.

If they were leaving your mum for another man, then that would be the real problem. No-one should let your mum down.

I don't think you can say how you would feel until you have experienced it first hand. Something I would rather not have to think about.

either way he is still your dad, it may be unusual but he is still the same underneith. hes going through a difficult time in his life, lots of people will be weirded out by it so he needs all of the support he can get.

I would be really confused and a little embarrassed. But in the end it's something a person has to accept. Cause there's nothing to do about it.

I'd lose my mind! My dad as a woman?! Lol! He's so butch and masculine there's no way he could pull it off.

Seriously though, I can't answer that, it's just to weird to comprehend so I can't say.
