I paid my nonrefundable pet deposit, I always pay my rent, my landlord told me to "get rid" of my dog. Can he do this, it is soooo messed up!

well if you paid a pet deposit I don't think he has a right to make you get rid of it. I'm sure you paid a regular deposit as well so if there are "pet" damages that should take care of the damages...Unless your pet bit someone or has the neighborhood in a united complaint then I don't think he can do anything about it...

If you paid a non refundable pet deposit then no. UNLESS you didnt follow the agreement to having the pet. If your dog barks excessivly when you were told that it had to be a quiet dog, if landlord said a small dog and you have a big dog, he said one dog you have two. anything along those lines and yes he can do exactally that make you get rid of the dog. But you do need to ask why and if he just decied no pets then the nonrefundable is automatically refundable you might have to go to small claims court to get it back though.

If you paid a nonrefundable pet deposit, and it's on record that you paid that, and it's nonrefundable, I don't think he has the right, but he is the landlord, I would tell him that you paid a non refundable pet deposit, and that since you paid that, you shouldn't have to git rid of your dog. If all else fails, take him to small claims court for the nonrefundable pet deposit.

Unless your dog did something outrageous, like hurt someone or bark loud all day and night and really annoy neighbors, your landlord should not be able to tell you to leave. He asked for a pet deposit, therefore he assumed the risk of PHYSICAL damage to the property by the dog. The contract binds him that way.

Is your dog destroying things or barking excessively? If you repair the damage or pay for him to repair damages he may let you keep him. What does your lease say about pets?
Can you buy a duplex and rent the other half to make the payments? That might be something to work toward.

Maybe the rules have changed and they don't want animals anymore. Ask him why. Look at your contract. If it says something about having an animal I bet there is a clause there that says they have the right to change the rules. If so then decide what is easier...to get rid of the dog or to move.

you're saying that the canines is strolling round and dropping issues? no longer even barking? You sound like you've unreasonable expectancies for the way loud your acquaintances will be in a shared housing project. If the sound of little ones playing to you is noise and not a delightful sound then you absolutely choose a house of your own.

depends did the dog ruin something real bad , whats the reason for him wanting the dog out ?non refundable pet deposits in renting are mainly to cover the costs of haveing to fix or replace whatever your dog ruiend

READ your lease. My apartment went no pets after 6 months and they had to let me keep my pet until the lease was in a year and than I moved.

what is his reasoning for telling you to get rid of your dog? There's no way to answer without knowing what his reaon is.
