Who came up w/ the concept of Zodiac signs?How accurate is it re: personalities?Y R Christians against it?

I had recently been reading my horoscope and for the most part it seemed to be accurate. However, I wonder if it is close with the other signs and how can this be? Why does the preacher say to stay away from those "horror" scopes? Is it a bad thing? I'm a virgo and I'd also like to know what sign am I most compatable with and who should I stay away from and why?

Anything that predicts the future is a no no for christians as they see it as witch craft. Moreso centuries ago the theory was founded that witches and wizard fortold the future and were deemed as non Christian. They also tend to not believe in religion rather than science as the Zodiac signs are like a predictice model based upon positions of the planets and actions at which the signs will follow.

Stonehenge...older than christianity. Pinpointing exactly when or where is probably impossible! Chinese zodiac goes way back as well. The movement of the moon and stars in the sky effect the gravitation pull on our world. Most evident by the tides (oceans). Which are water. The human body is like 95-97% water. So the movement of celestial bodies must have some effect on humans. Horoscopes are only as accurate as the person deciphering them. But the personality profile for the sign you were born under, should be fairly accurate.
As far as the christian thing, Prior to the "King James" version, the Bible contained the ancient knowledge of subjects like Astrology, Numerology, Reincarnation, Karma and many other subjects considered occult to them now!
The King, the Pope and other "higher ups" of the time decided that we were better off not knowing such things. It seems that when a person is truly educated in these areas, they find the only place to find "God" is within yourself. If you know this, then you wouldn't go to church and give them $$$$.

It is a very ancient "art" form, going back at least 3000 years. The word Astrology means "Science of the stars" in Greek, where the first written records of astrology are to be found. However, many very ancient structures such as Stonehenge have a realiance on the constallations and other astronomical objects such as the sun.

Horoscopes are incompatable with Christianity because it takes away from God's divinity, if the star signs say you will do something it means God doesn't have control on your life, they do.

Your horoscope only appears to have an influence over your life because it is so ambiguous, if you read several examples of your horoscope for a particular day you'll notice they're often very different. Astrologers make use of something called Cold Reading, if you make anything ambiguous enough it'll make sense.

Astrology is a practice that comes from the ancient middle east. It was begun during pagan times. When monotheism came about, it had begun to fall out of favor because it was a pagan practice. The horoscopes that we know here in the west, aquarius, aries, taurus, etc, are Greek. To say astrology is a bad thing, is coming from someone who doesn't know the history of it. It's a pretty ignorant thing to say.

Don't pay any attention to who you are compatible with or who to stay away from. The energy of the stars are millions of years old and have no bearing upon who and what we are. Just live. Keep an open heart and an open mind. If you like someone, be with them. If someone gives you the creeps, stay away from them.

God created the perfectly righteous Lucifer, by God's choice. Lucifer creted the absolutely wicked Satan, by Lucifers choice.

Lucifer, and all of the millions of angels had the power to "Choice" to obey or to rebel. Most chose to obey God, while some followed Satan's rebellion and have became hopelessly corrupt.

the Bible says its wrong if u use it to try to foretell the future. I used to be really into astrology, tons of books, it somewhat works as a generality when ur talking about personality, but I would just go by how a person acts and treats you, not by what a person's birthday supposedly says about them. I would not turn down someone just because their sign didn't go well with mine. Its kind of immature.

you should do a bit of research to find out if the sign you think you are is the sign you 'really' are, because its pretty out of date. If you believe the allignment of the stars has something to do with your personality you should know that the earths orbit has shifted since the signs were made and the stars you were born under might not be what you think they are.
