the actual use of anti-christ is found only in these verses:
In 1 John 2:18 "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that anti christ shall come, even now are there many anti-christs; whereby we know that is it the last time."
In 1 John 4:3, "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of anti-christ, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already IS IT IN THE WORLD."
In 1 John 2:1 it says, "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-christ, that denieth the Father and the Son."
In 2 John 2:7, "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an anti-christ."
From these texts it would appear that it isn't so much a person as much as it is a system of not believing in Jesus as the Son of God. and as to if anti christ was alive today...from 1 John 4:3 it seems was around back in John's time so definitely must still be here today.

The anti-christ spirit was in the world when Jesus was alive. It is the spirit that is against Christ. Have you not sensed that spirit in the world today. Will that spirit become an actual man in our time? Good question. I think it's possible that the anti - christ spirit will be embodied in a human in these last days.

There's a good chance that the anti-christ IS alive today. Many biblical scholars and prophetic researchers expect him to mirror major events in Jesus life, so he would most likely be unknown until he started his "public career".
By my best estimates from what I've read, it's possible that he's still young. Only those people closest to him would know / suspect who he is, and he would probably be heavily sheltered by Satan until he gained the power to protect himself.
As to who he would be -- no one famous, until his time has come.

He would have to be the power behind the scenes in the Middle East who is, or will be, really pulling the strings because the only source for this says Armageddon will take place there. If I remember correctly, it says it will be an evil leader from the old Babylonian Empire with seven heads (nations?)

We wouldn't know until it was too late. If you are asking for a particular person in the world today, I would say Bush. Bush speaks about his christian values, but when it is time to show them on a large scale they often are not there.
