No, hatred is not a criminal offense. The deeds you do and things you say as a result may be.

while most - including myself - deem it to be immoral, hatred is not in itself looked upon as a crime. It is perfectly legal to form and/or be part of a hate group such as the Klan or Nation of Islam. It is perfectly legal to preach and teach hatred as the two organizations mentioned above do. The expression of hatred in such a way that it infringes upon the rights of others becomes a crime. If the hater goes out and commits murder, or assaults someone, the act and not the motivation is considered the crime.

No. To hate is not a crime but it is a waste of time. To act upon hatred is a crime usually in the civic sense and always in the christian moral sense.
Hatred eats at your mind and is something to strive to eliminate from your thought patterns to achieve a sense of peace. Humans can't achieve this without help.

It all depends upon what the object of the hatred is. For instance it's not a crime to hate sin but it is a crime to hate a sinner.

yes, the wonderful government says that if you commit a crime based on feelings of hostility towards an identifiable group then it is a hate crime but how many murders or violent crimes do you read about that the guilty had no hostility towards their victims and/or couldn't categorize them in some group. but at the same time hate without action is not a crime, it may just be considered premeditation if you were ever to act on it. hate is a feeling and nothing more, what you do with it is up to you and maybe the Man upstairs.......

Hatred is an emotion and emotions are not criminal acts. If one acts upon the hatred in a violent manner against persons or property, that would be a crime.

No...Haterd is not a crime. It's what you do with it that can make it a crime.
It's kinda like "anger".
If you're angry, it's yours.....so you can have it. It doesn't affect anything outside of your own brain, unless you take it physically to the streets where, yes, it could lead to a crime.
'Hatred' is just another word meaning 'fear'.

i wouldn't call it a crime unless you act upon it but i would say that hate only affects you not the person you have the hatred for. hate fills your heart with bitterness and and makes no room for joy.

Murder is a crime. Hate leads to crime. Anger leads to hate. The right use of anger - that is loving confrontation - leads to better relationships. Anger also leads to appropriate outrage as in when Jesus threw the money changers out of the temple, when mother teresa touched the untouchables, when Martin Luther King spoke out about unjust treatment of his people. When anger leads to hate it is wrong. And that's a fact!
