Everyone on earth right now has a purpose, according to Gods will, that's why you are still here. We may not understand our purpose, but God does!

This is my belief:
We are here as physical incarnations so that God can experience God's self.
God is absolute. In this state there are no contradictions and no relativity. Everything is constant, absolute.
There are no temperature fluctuations, for instance. How would you know it's hot, if you never experienced cold? How would you know you're tall, if you never saw someone shorter than you? How would you know love if you never experienced hate or fear?
God created life as we know it so that God could experience God's self in the world of relativity through us, who are each an individuation of the whole.
God does not judge us for our actions...after this physical incarnation ends we will return to the spiritual dimension (heaven) and decide if we want to stay or experience another physical incarnation. This is how we serve God.
In a way, we did all go to heaven in the first place...our souls, as part of God, are eternal, no beginning and no ending. Our true and permanent eternal home is in heaven. We are here because we chose to come here to serve God.

I love that question... The Christians who believe in "God's plan" and such things like that make a terrible assumption: If God has a plan for us, does that mean he has condemned some of us to hell?
The idea of heaven is just something to make people play by the Christian rules. Nothing more.

This life is a test, and heaven is a reward for those who do good deeds, while hell is for those whose bad deeds outweigh the good (though asking God for forgiveness and promising to never to the bad deeds again with a sincere heart is the best way to go)

there is no heaven. heaven and hell are ideas created by man in order to force people to follow certain moral principles, that are ultimately supposed to make societies run smoothly by telling us how we should act. heaven is used as a reward, and begs of the pleasure principle that permeates man's psychology. the use of hell is a fear tactic, and it works because people don't really know what may happen to them after they die.

Probably because you are here until you learn all the lessons that Jesus taught you. Once you have it all figured out, things like being nice and loving everyone as you love yourself, then you can go to heaven. :)
