sorry to say this but you will never have an american accent by the time you visit. you would have to live in america for years and years to lose your accent and speak like an america. but even americans have their oun accents. depending from where they are in america. dont make a friend over the phone. its weird to speak with soemone you dont know. i think you should buy some tapes and listen to them in english.

Well, the best way to get an American accent, or speak English in a way Americans do, is to speak to someone American. A LOT. SIMPLY GO TO AMERICA!!! Trust me, you will get it THERE

You can learn the language but as far as the accent, you should have been born here or at least be in the US before your 10th birthday. As a child it is easier to pick up the accent.

Watch American movies and repeat after each sentence. It helps.

I would go to mIRC (www.mIRC.org) or another chat service. If you really want to talk, then join some clubs in your area that interest you and talk to people there or sign up for some classes.
