The newborn is an eaglet. Interestingly, usually only the first born will survive, the subsequent being eaten by the older, stronger sibling. It is the natural killer instinct which is evident from the moment of hatching. I had the pleasure of filming the hatching of eaglets several years ago in Manitoba. It was professional footage which was sold to a very well known wildlife television show producer. He in turn claimed it as his own work with very sly cutaways of climbing up a large rock. However, he did pay my employer for it and he did own the footage to do with as he pleased. That is how that business is done.

A baby swan is called a cygnet
A baby whale is called a calf.
A baby skunk is called a kit.
A baby gorilla is called an infant.

so if human's baby is a infant, does that mean we are gorillas?
