Natural Chemistry De Flea Pet Shampoo and Natural Chemistry De Flea Pet & Area Spray.

Both are safe for nursing animals and puppies under 12 weeks which is usually the minimum age for most flea products.

The company (Bayer) says that it is. I work at a cat shelter and we have used it on week old kittens if they were heavily infested.

Personally, I do not apply it to pregnant OR nursing females. I just do not want any chemicals on them. If you have seen fleas, then it is better to put the Advantage on since fleas are deadly to the newborns if there are enough of them to render the puppies anemic.

use a citrus ...like orange peels and rub your dog down with the peels. keeps the fleas away and safe for the mother and pups. also rub it all over her collar...if she wears one...but collars are not safe if she is whelping. pups paws get caught up in it...or their little heads do.

hope this helps.

I don't think so. I always used a flea and tick bath (very mild) right before whelping.
