well the god mother of the child is the one that is suppose to throw the baby shower, BUT it doesn't really matter. your husband can do it, and you can have men and women there. its your shower do what you fell comfortable with.

If this is your first child, a close girlfriend should throw you a baby shower. The personal touch is always best, use paper invitations, have them in the mail about 2 weeks before the shower date. Same goes for thank you notes, paper is proper, not a quick e-mail. You, your hubby, a few close gf's should decorate, buy snacks and drinks, come up with 3-4 fun games. Keep the shower rolling, no awkward lags. As the mother to be, you should sit, put your feet up and enjoy.

Cake and ice cream are a must. You should have some diet cola on hand. You can go from very light snacks, to finger sandwiches or fried chicken.

Show the guests a good time, they're bringing the gifts.

LOL, I was thinking "what is the proper way to shower with your baby"! Since I have friends that do shower rather than take a bath with them, and I was thinking "there must be a proper way to hold them so they dont slip out of your arms"...but anyway. You should have a cake and apetisers. Then a few party games (guess the size of the mama's belly) (who got the gift baggie with the sticker on the bottom) etc. get a few prizes for that, then allow time for the mama to open presents so all guests can ooh and ahh! Prior to the party, decide if it will be co-ed. Then make a guest list of your friends. send invitations, make sure to allow several hours for the party. Let guests know if kids will, or will not be allowed at the party. The most important thing is to have a good time! It sounds like your husband is really sweet!

It is the proper way to have it when your husbands gives you a baby shower, it showes that he cares and wants to see you happy. He will team up w/ your best friend/s to do it. The'll have more ideas than just your husband if they been to other baby showers.

That makes no sense to me. What does it matter who throws the party? Remember to do the baby food tasting game. It's a riot!

Why wouldn't it be proper. Everything is so modernized these days why not let him have a baby shower for you? Good Luck and have fun!

sure, he may throw you one, that is wonderful and very exciting because some guys are not that into parties. you should feel blessed. I think that would be wonderful. it doesn't matter who hosts the party it is the guest's of honor that the party is celebrating.

in this day and age.....i wouldnt even think of it being improper. i think that is such a nice idea on his part. i encourage you to let him do it. it will be memorable for both of you, and afterall...isnt that the most important? he is doing something for you and the baby, and that is so sweet. most men wouldnt think of doing that. kudos to your husband!!!! sit back, let him plan it, and ENJOY! and if someone is too uptight about it, and thinks it improper, they can mail your gift to you...and forgo the fun, games, and cake!
