I went to Australia Zoo last July, and it was really enjoyable. I'm not a fan of Steve Irwin himself, so was not dissapointed that he was not there!

I absolutely loved the animal shows, in particular, the big cats. The crocodiles were a bit shy, it was winter and they wanted to take things slow..

I also really really loved the elephant enclosure. Very cool.

No, I would not wrestle a croc, but to each their own I guess.

I've been to the Victorian outback and look forward to exploring the Simpson desert some time next year if all goes as planned. Australia Zoo is not in the outback, in case you didn't know.

I found Australia Zoo to be very expensive. It was over $100 admitance for 2 adults and 2 kids. This was about twice what I paid last time I went to Melbourne Zoo a few months earlier.

Steve Irwin has been living and working at Australia Zoo all of his life. I remember seeing him handle snakes over 28 years ago when I first went there. The old brick building that use to house the snakes is still there.

I think he is expanding yet again to put in an African safari type park.

The croc show is great now but get in early - always big crowds.

It is not in the outback but surrounded by some great pineapple plantations and beautiful beaches are nearby.

Its a must on a trip to Queensland

I have been there. It is an OK wildlife park, but nothing special.

It sure as hell is not anywhere near the outback - it is about an hour's drive from Brisbane - one of Australia's major cities and is very near the coast.

I personally have not been but my parents went last year and they said it was good.

all the displays were very informative and the people very friendly.
unfortunately on the day they went Steve was not there as he had just had an accident was had been taken to hospital. the staff said that he is usually there everyday unless he is filming.
