You are kidding??? Guide Dogs are an extension of a blind person's entity. They provide safe passage and independence for the disabled. Favourtism? No. Concession to a need in someone without the power of sight.
C'mon now? You were just trying to get a rise out us, weren't you?

surely even blind people have a sense of humour and know that no-one would seriously think that! some of the answers to this question show just how literal some people take others when they really should 'see' (no pun intended) the joke in it. It isn't funny to be blind but when they lose their sight they don't lose their sense of humour!!
And, just for the record, i think it's outrageous that blind people have to buy a tv licence!! so there!

Move to France. Then you, too, can take your dog everywhere. (Well, almost.) And you won't even have to go to the trouble of going blind to do it!
May you never know such good fortune, as you see it. You might not be able to cope with people making jokes about you.

They are not lucky, they can't see anything. They get to bring there dogs with them, because they help the blind person.
so just up, go ahead and become blind for all i care, then you will be sorry!

What you just said is such ignorance that I wish I could come find you and slap you really really hard. Do you have any idea how it would be to be blind.
I'm sure that almost everyone is willing to cut their eyes out so that they can bring their dogs everywhere.
Go **** yourself.

you know i feel quilty about leaving my dog at home...and just the other day was thinking God...she is such a good dog I should be able to take her anywhere even the grocery store...perhaps i can purchase one of those orange jackets to put on her that blind people have on their dogs and no one would be any of the wiser.

I think it's interesting that you refer to blind people as lucky! I think they must have it tough to have to rely on other people and have a dog as their guide. I think the gift to see is my strongest gift. I think it's an amazing gift because as an artistic person I love to see different color trees, street signs, different people and essentially being independent.
On the other hand, a blind person must rely more heavily on their other senses which makes them more aware of their body. Their hearing becomes intensified because helps he/she to respond to their environment. They must visualize in such a different light.

Hmmm... Dog boy howdy! They are so lucky indeed.
Blind people can take a dog with them, that they can't
see. Walking through a city they can't see. Past people
that they can't see. Yeah, they are so freaking lucky!
Not as lucky as you are, they are vision impaired. You
are cerebrally impaired. Smackass.

They're blind. Would you like to be blind just so you could take your dog everywhere?
