I am currently heavier than I would like to be. For the last two months I have been eating healither and drinking nothing but water and unsweeted green tea. I haven't lost more than five pounds. I am also working out five days a week with the Celebrity Fit Club DVD and I run three miles three times a week. I need to drop 15-20 pounds in a month for a vacation. I am devoted to keeping the weight off so I won't put the weight back on... Can anyone help?

People can call it what they want, but Atkins will work. But you have to follow it exactly. If you don't want to do Atkins, try South Beach. Keep up with the exercise!

First loosing five pounds is a great start
Loosing 20 pounds in a month is pretty unreasonable
Loosing 5+ pounds for the next 4-6 months seems like a much more logical goal
The more you run and exercise you loose fat, but gain muscle
This is relevant because you can actually be getting in better shape, but loosing very little weight.
A friend of mine was getting married so he decided to loose about 20 pounds before the ceremony.
He exercised every day for 2 months and alto ugh he lost 10+ pounds he didn't keep it off for long because he never made serious lifestyle changes.
Sustainable weight loss is a much more reasonable, healthy, and mentally challenging goal.
The more muscle you build and the more you exercise the more efficiently your body will burn calories leading to a more long-term
change

Good luck and stick with it

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

the sad thing is, you are doing all you can right now. right now what your body is doing is building up muscle for the exercise your doing. you are more active now than you were, right? your body didn’t need nearly the amount of muscle it needs now. be sure to measure your bust waist and tummy every couple days, and write them down. muscle weighs more than fat. so even if you are loosing a little, right now your body is doing its best to get what it needs in order to exercise safely. truly, it doesn’t need allot of muscle to get where your body needs to be, but when your body’s not very used to producing muscle, its hard to get the ball rolling. you probably are loosing some fat. some people gain weight during the first few months of their exercising. this is because their muscles aren’t strong enough to start loosing the excess fat they have. you, are actually loosing SOME weight. I would take this as a great accomplishment. (even though some of it might be water weight, but don’t look at it like that.) your weight loosing will accelerate, but it might take another 2 months. I know its not what you want to hear, but to change your exercise routine now, for a more strenuous one, will only hurt your body. what you are running is good, your activity level is good. I know you'll start dropping pounds faster and faster. and you will notice you'll be loosing actual body weight soon. look at yourself in the mirror every once in awhile. take old photos of yourself from months prior. look especially at your face. was their excess fat around the lower part of your chin before? it has probably, at least a little, started to dissipate. so your body is really working hard to get that weight off. its just it needs some extra equipment you don’t have yet to get the job done. good luck! I know you can do it.

Just don't forget that you need to keep eating quite a bit to keep your metabolism going and to lose weight. Always start your day with breakfast in the morning...it will jumpstart your metabolism for the day and start your body at burning fat.

It sounds as if you are doing about all that you can. When you first
start a dieting program it seems to take forever for the weight to
come off, but finally it will really take hold and viola, you will be
slender!! I applaud you.

Keep doing what you're doing...you lose weight fast at the beginning, then it smooths out, then you'll lose more.
