It is a normal reaction. It is called "hypnogogic myoclonus". The body jerks, and you have the sensation that you are falling. It has to do with transition from one stage of sleep to another.

It happens with me also. It s a normal human behaviour. U get so involved with ur dream in ur sleep that u tend to start actually feeling the jerks, falls, jilts, slaps, hits, etc. in ur sleep.

I don't know. I'm kind of hte opposite. Sometimes I wake up because it feels like I'm falling and I kind of go crazy, lol.

I was told that it you are falling and you do not jump and you hit the bottom you are dead in your sleep. Now how true is that?
