sony makes good products. Canon also makes good stuff. It all depends if you are looking for dv or dvd or some other media. That is what you should be looking at and researching.

sony and they have a sale with free memory right now. see bestbuy.com or sony.com also see cnet.com reviews for whatthey think of them as well as owner reviews. i have the sony t30 model and love it, the t40 is even nicer and now same price as mine was 6 mos ago.
