i read some article earky this year that a man from afghanistan was converted to christian and the muslim people their want to kill him!!

It's not just islam, most religions frown if someone leaves them. Look at all the "one true god" stuff in the 10 commandments (+/- a few others depending on which bible you read- all of which are god's word and the "truth". Maybe she wasn't sure how many fingers she was going to put on Adam before tearing out an excess rib she'd finally realised she'd needed to make Eve)
They get really worried if they become atheist or agnostic because they get afraid of people who start to think rationally as it weakens their power base.
You should look at some of the statements made by christian evangelists and creationists if you consider only islam to suffer from this.
I'd like to personally damn all religions to hell, but as I don't believe in it and it also looks like that's where I'm going, I'd hate to share it with those theists. Can you imagine an eternity of them trying to convert you to chant to a mythological supreme being?

Well, I dont know why would you convert into another religion. Islam is the true religion(sorry if i am offending u or something).It was wrong of the people who wanted to kill the other man. If u want to learn more about islam, u can go to www.alislam.org

Isn't it obvious, to keep people from leaving Islam, what better way to make a religion thrive then by making everyone to drop what they are doing and bow down and pray facing the same direction (in this case toward a big black box, don't get much crazier then this) 5 times a day. If you don't, you risk losing popularity in the so-called religious community to the extent of possibly even being beaten to the point of death. After a year of doing this the individual just feels its easier to go with the flow and swallow all the nonsense directed at them from self rightious fruitcakes atop towers. To think nothing of leaving Islam for another religion you deemed perhaps more just and closer to the truth then this one! Mo new what he was doing when he created this religion in his all too successful bid for power. Just don't let anyone think for themselves. He in Allah will do the thinking for you and You Must Submit! This is my humble opinion.

In Islam, apostasy, leaving Islam, is punishable by death. This is not because a lot of Afghans are illiterate, as some posters suggested, or equivalent to Christians believing that unbelievers will perish in hell (they can believe whatever they want as long as they do not kill me for my decisions!!).
So it is not just a sin, it is something that Islamic law proscribes the death penalty for, to me that is the lowest a belief system can stoop to. It is kind of like in the Mafia movies, if you leave the gang you get killed.

Most of ppl confuse about the killing the murtad ppl.
In one story, for 3 times, a Muslim met Muhammad and said he want convert from Islam.. Muhammad didnt say anything. After that, he convert from Islam and move from Medina... and Muhammad didnt ask ppl to catch him and kill him. It is bcoz you can convert from Islam but you cannot tell something -ve about Islam & Muslim. If you want convert, you can do it but respect other Muslim & islam.

Why would the govt hnt for anyone who deflect? Or why would the army do everything to hunt down anyone who resigns from the army?
If only you can take the pain to study the workings of islam, you'd discover that it is insanity that will make anyone discover it and decide to live it thereafter.
Recall that xtn do the same when they were in power in rome and britain. crucifix? Read wide before you make allegations.

The Biggest sin in Islam is shrik (to associates with God).
Why don't people become intelligent. Learn about the religion first then critisize, you will be better opponents. And I will be glad to answer wise guys.

To frighten you from leaving. Why would Muslims decide to hate Christians and Jews ONLY. They dont have a problem with Hindus or Taoists or any other faith, just those two. Seems that Allah is only prejudice against a few. Sounds like a diety's thinking to me.

actually the biggest sin in islam is homosexuality and if a muslim starts to worship other things with god i.e worships a tree and allah.
and that wasnt the only reason they wanted to kill.he had abadoned his family for 16 years(wife and kids).but they didnt kill him because while he was in germany he was admitted to mental hosptials.
and ive had christian tell me im going to hell(because im not christian).so really there is no difference there.

Certain factions of the Islamic faith are fanatics that adhere strictly to their doctrines. One of their doctrines is that if you deny Allah,you must die. Nice bunch of people huh? Not all Islamic people are like this and should not be confused with those that are this way.
