Yes! I believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God!

2 Timothy 3:16 says: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.

Imperfect humans were utilized as vessels and/or instruments to transcribe the Word of God in print. They were chosen by God.

It's no different than if a secretary transcribes the words of a doctor or lawyer for others to read in print.

If the Lord can create galaxies, the earth, life....surely...he can perfectly guide imperfect man to put words upon a page.

Blessings, Kiki

I think the Bible has it's value even in today's church but I don't think it is the authority on the "word of God". It contains many stories and truths but it is unquestionably flawed!
The Bible we have today is a text that was written by several religious leaders of the times, centuries after Christ died. It was they who decided what stories and what accounts should be recorded for all time. They omitted a lot of important info and disregarded some key points that appeared to go against their system of beliefs. They simply took the most common stories from many churches and put them in a book to organize their religion.(it kind of worked as Christianity is still a strong and popular religion)
But to answer your question no I don't hold the Bible as a sacred text just as a good book with some great stories and important values for humanity.

Many say the Bible is the inspired word of God, but the Bible writers never claim this. Most of the writers claimed to be eyewitnesses of the events, they often spoke of hundreds of witnesses still alive at the time who could be called to testify. We also know that most of them were tortured and killed because they refused to deny what they claimed they witnessed. When we think of James, the brother of Jesus who had a problem with the claims of Jesus' divinity, but then witnessed Christ during His days on Earth after He returned from the grave was willing to die for the claim that his brother was God. Why would someone choose death for a lie or hoax? Most will lie only to gain something. What did he have to gain from this lie. What was the motivation?

Most of the history we get is not written by eyewitnesses, and by committee the authors of history will sugar coat or embelish or cover up.

The Bible is different beacuse there were no committees writing the scriptures, they were written by the witnesses as letters and they were passed around by believers who took great pains to preserve them word for word. We can assume the Bible is extremely close to its original form from the pieces that have been verified by science.

For example, the Dead Sea Scrolls found in 1947 have an almost complete copy of the Book of Isaiah, a book that predicts and tells of Christ's coming. It has been dated by historians as nearly 200 years before Christ lived and the book is nearly word for word accurate. If the Bible has been tampered with, they skipped the Book of Isaiah. I think it is better to study the history of the path the Bible has taken through history and to realize that the books and letters were available all over, and bad copies would not have been any more viable than a copy of The Hobbit in which Bilbo dies and Thorin Oakenshield goes back to the Shire and raises Frodo.

People speak of the Councils, these councils were only taking the Gospels and Books that were going around and sorting out the rubbish "gospels" that were being circulated by the hundreds of people who were trying to slide their own bits into history.

People speak of the Gospel of Mary Magdeline, or the Gospel of Judas (written 200 years after he died) or the Gospel of Thomas
which supposedly speaks of the Holy Feminine? The gospel of Thomas claims that when asked how could Mary Magdeline be saved since she was a woman that Jesus answered that he would change mary into a man so she could be saved.

Nonsense.

I believe the Bible is accurate because science has proven it is accurate eyewitness accounts of events with hundreds of contemporary witnesses that people believed so much they were willing to die for them.

Yes, I believe each word in the Bible is God's truth. See 2 Tim 3:16. All scripture comes from God. The Greek words have been carefully studied and interpretted into different languages. When Jesus Christ came to earth, fulfilled prophecy, died on the cross, he freed us from the "old law" of the old testament and gave us a freedom to choose His grace and forgiveness of sin. I have accepted this freedom. The freedom doesn't mean I won't ever sin. I will. It means if I ask for forgiveness for my sin, I will be forgiven.

Gods, fallen angles, the son of god, it just reminds me of life.
Think about it, god created all the living and all the planets, then gave the DUMB kings and priest a book as guild to live by so they could teach us, but no one is smart enough to interpret it, then said I'LL BE BACK
we can not even understand most of the ten commandments and should stick to the ones that the majority of the people understands and throw the rest away. That would make since, so it will never happen.

So my answer is NO!!!!!!!

No. It's a very old book with elements that have been added and taken away over the centurires; translated into hundreds of languages before the English language ... . I have a hard time believing why people would believe it.

l believe everything that is written in the Holy Bible, especially the King James version. l know that it is very true to me because l know that Christ lives in me and would never lie. There are many who would lead you to doubt the Word of God, but that's because they haven't been touched by His truth.

The Bible says that there will come a time when the righeous ones will know who served God and who did not. Those who did not will become dusts of their feet. ( Malachi 3:16-18)

It's really up to you. Choose: (a) have the feet that tramples on the dust, or (b) become the dust.
